Natalie Jangula is a Nampa City Councilwoman who was recently engaged in dealing with the first ever Nampa Pride Festival. There were many calls for the city council and mayor to shut down the event, but in the spirit of defending the law, the city council and other local agencies went to great lengths to ensure the festival went off in the most legally conforming manner. Kati Chauvin works for Central District Health and works to educate people on the risks of vaping. This is a newer form of tobacco and substance delivery system, becoming popular just inside the last couple decades. "Vaping" integrates technology and new chemical compounds to allow for a newly marketed series of products that are sleek, flavorful, and deadly to youth. Unlike traditional tobacco products, these can be used to deliver hard drugs and even using tobacco only versions can deliver such harmful chemicals and concentration that youth have started dying. This was an eye opening conversation to say the least. I greatly appreciate her time and Central District Health for its efforts.
