Stopping Violence Against Idaho's Elected Officials with Britt Raybould

Britt Raybould is a District 34 Representative and the target of violent, credible threats to her life as a result. The environment around politics and politicians in America has reached a point where extreme and violent threats and actions are being taken against our state and local politicians. Britt has not only put herself on the line as an elected official, but also as someone loudly speaking out against this horrendous behavior. We, as Americans, need to be better. The Ranch Podcast Legislative Session episodes are supported by Truth In Media Foundation, a non-profit media organization committed to unbiased, Idaho focused media. www.theRanchPodcast.orgThe Ranch Podcast is the premier source for long format interviews and information in the Treasure Valley and great state of Idaho. Removing Education in Idaho with Todd Achilles

Todd Achilles is a District 16 Representative and a huge advocate for education in Idaho. We got connected initially because of a piece of content he made throwing away a joint resolution to remove the education requirement from Idaho’s state constitution. There is a movement within the state to put the requirement of education onto parents, not onto the state, meaning if there was a child in an urban or remote area of the state and parents did not have the time or desire to educate the child, the state would not provide any assistance. Education used to be understood as a cultural and social good in America, and Todd and I talked about how the state of Idaho is coming to see it as something different than it has classically been understood. Fighting Trafficking in Canyon County with Deborah Kraft

Deborah Kraft is a civilian working with the Canyon County Anti-Trafficking Task Force. She came face to face with a trafficking victim while she was enjoying a walk with a friend, and that one experience sent her down a rabbit hole of learning about and advocating against human trafficking in the Treasure Valley. Many people speak out against trafficking on a whole, but few know that there are trafficking victims currently being abused in our own communities. This was a sobering but hugely valuable conversation.www.theRanchPodcast.orgThe Ranch Podcast is the premier source for long format interviews and information in the Treasure Valley and great state of Idaho. Stretching Idaho's Water Resource with Andrew Mickelson

Andrew Mickelson is an Idaho farmer who has been working to understand possible ways to stretch our scarce water resource farther in our varying soil types. The Rule of Thumb within the farming community is changing as we gain more advanced technology like soil probes and more effective monitoring devices, and this shift may be the key to unlocking even greater production with the same or less water in Idaho. Medicaid Repeal, Revenue Shortfall, and Marriage in Idaho with Ilana Rubel

Ilana Rubel is the House Minority Leader from District 18. She came in to speak about the shortfall in revenue that is being reported, medicaid repeal, and marriage in Idaho. She also happens to be an attorney by trade and was able to speak extensively on the legal implications of repealing the 2015 same-sex marriage decision laid out by the Supreme Court. Marriage, unlike many other decisions, requires ongoing affirmation in many areas such as child custody, medical decisions, tax code, etc. Repealing the decision would put many Idahoans and their families in precarious positions that I did not understand until recently. Living & Thriving in Idaho with Monica Church

Monica Church is a District 19 Representative and multi-generation Idahoan. We spoke extensively about what it takes to live and thrive in Idaho, and how there is a disconnect between individuals like myself who have moved from other states to the great state of Idaho and those that have been here for some time. This is going to be one of the greatest chasms that we, as a state, have to bridge together as we’re all Americans and find ourselves not understanding each other but occupying the same great land. The Heart of a Podcast with Bam

Bam is the host of the Wild Chaos Podcast, a vet, and an entrepreneur. He has gone through the crucible of getting a show off the ground in a way very few people have. It was wonderful to speak with him about what that is like as so many people want to have a show but just do not understand what it takes to make it a reality. I greatly appreciate him and his production.
