Heading south... to Tear, and to hell in a handbasket. RJ uses even the colors of pebbles to foreshadow this epic fantasy, and still manages to keep some of the Aes Sedai plots murky! Mat gets some fan-love and the family of the Band of the Red Hand coalesces as Chel Vanin is introduced, Talmanes is revealed in a new light, and Olver reinserts himself into the story. Seth makes a compelling argument to explain a bloody mystery that has always stumped Aradia. Gateway mechanics and Roman military considerations get examined yet again.
