FIEND Hog-Ties Victim With Christmas Lights, Sex Assaults Her After Tricking Daughter to 'Crack Window'

Alisa Mathewson and her estranged husband Trevor Summers had been going through a bitter divorce. The couple had five children. There were allegations that Summers was obsessed and possessive, and a restraining order against him backed those allegations. Then one night Summers tricked his then-14-year-old daughter into leaving a window unlocked for him. He told he want to talk to Mathewson. Summers broke into the house and attacked Mathewson in her bedroom, holding her there for hours after sending the children to his home. Summers tied up his estranged wife with Christmas lights and then a vacuum cleaner cord. After hours of being bounded and gagged, Mathewson says she was raped twice. Summers then hogtied her and tried to smother her to death with a pillow. He then made Mathewson leave with him. Summers drove to a Walgreens, where Mathewson, with her hands tied behind her back, tried to get away. An employee saw it all and called the police.  Summers was charged with two counts of attempted murder in the first degree, sexual battery, and kidnapping. The Desperate Search for a Gorgeous Missing Princeton Co-ed, Tragic Twist

Today's episode of Crime Stories with Nancy Grace was broadcast before the body of Princeton University student Misrach Ewunetie was found. The  Mercer County Prosecutor's Office says a facilities employee discovered Ewunetie's body Thursday afternoon, behind some tennis courts. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death. Officials say there are no obvious signs of injury.    Our condolences to the family.  Princeton University junior Misrach Ewunetie was last seen in her dorm, but her cellphone pinged near an off-campus housing complex two days after she disappeared. Authorities have searched the outside areas of the complex multiple times. Officers could not go inside homes without a warrant but residents did talk with some people who lived in the area. Misrach's brother, Universe Ewunetie, told The Sun that his sister missed an important meeting the day after she disappeared. Misrach is 5-foot-4 and about 130 pounds with brown eyes, and black hair. Legal Heir Alex Murdaugh, Suspect in Wife & Son's Murders Names 'REAL KILLER'

Attorneys for disgraced South Carolina lawyer Alex Murdaugh are pointing the finger at Murdaugh's cousin Curtis "Eddie" Smith. In a new court filing, the lawyers say that Smith, who reportedly failed a polygraph, should have been more rigorously investigated as a prime suspect by police. During a polygraph five months ago,  Smith was asked three times about his involvement in the shootings that killed Maggie and Paul Smith. Smith replied, no, to those questions, meaning he was not involved.  Police sources say Smith's answers indicate an attempt at deception. He lied. Smith has said he was “nowhere near” the property when the shootings occurred.        Joining Nancy Grace Today: Jessica Garth - Chief, Special Victims & Family Violence Unit, State's Attorney's Office, Prince George's County, MD Dr. Shari Schwartz - Forensic Psychologist (specializing in Capital Mitigation and Victim Advocacy), PantherMitigation.com, Twitter: @TrialDoc, Author: "Criminal Behavior" and "Where Law and Psychology Intersect: Issues in Legal Psychology" Joe Scott Morgan - Professor of Forensics: Jacksonville State University, Author, "Blood Beneath My Feet", Host: "Body Bags with Joseph Scott Morgan" Dr. Michelle DuPre - Former Forensic Pathologist, Medical Examiner and Detective: Lexington County Sheriff's Department, Author: "Homicide Investigation Field Guide" & "Investigating Child Abuse Field Guide", Forensic Consultant, DMichelleDupreMD.com  Chris Byers - Former Police Chief Johns Creek Georgia,  25 years as Police Officer, Private Investigator and Polygraph Examiner,   www.chrisbyersinvestigationsandpolygraph.com   Anne Emerson - Senior Investigative Reporter, WCIV ABC News 4 (Charleston, SC), Host of Award-Winning Podcast: "Unsolved South Carolina: The Murdaugh Murders, Money and Mystery, Twitter: @AnneTEmerson   See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
