Convicted Killer Alex Murdaugh is a popular man behind bars, receiving more than 30 messages from women.  One dated March 6, 2023, from Darla says the Murdaughs were a "beautiful family that others could only dream of" and she expresses her belief that Alex Murdaugh is not a murderer.    Others are asking Murdaugh to reply. Gunfire broke out around 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon at a Texas mall. Witnesses describe a man dressed in black, wearing body armor,  walking through the mall property firing indiscriminately. Police say an officer who was responding to an unrelated call heard the gunfire and took action. Gannon Stauch, an 11-year-old boy from Colorado, was found dead nearly two months after he was reported missing by his stepmother, Letecia Stauch. Gannon was initially reported as a runaway, but was later classified as a missing/endangered person. Surveillance footage revealed Letecia leaving with Gannon and returning without him, raising suspicions, and then Gannon's body was found in Florida. His stepmother now faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder. Twenty-four years ago, Katy High School teacher Belinda Temple was found shot to death inside her home.  Her husband David Temple has been convicted twice in her murder. New evidence emerges in the case of missing Ana Walshe: a bizarre email claiming the mom has been kidnapped. At 5:18 a.m., Cohasset police received an email from a Gmail account. The email stated: "We have the so named Ana Walshe with us here... We had a deal worth $127,000.. she messed up...we have her here with us and if she doesn't pay the money. Then she'll never be back." There's no additional information, no instruction on where to leave the money and no way to contact the kidnappers. Nefataree Bartell is last seen on February 21, 2023.  Bartell and her dog, Nova, were seen walking in the snow; a woman stopped to offer the 26-year-old a ride. Bartell had an address of a cabin. The driver took Bartell to Gold Creek Road and left her there to walk the rest of the way to her destination. The driver, though, was concerned about a very pregnant Nefataree hiking the rest of the way in the snow.  As soon as the driver got to the highway, she called the sheriff's department. She told police that she had a "bad feeling" and asked them to do a wellness check on Bartell. It didn't happen. Eight days later, the dog was found alive and well-nourished. Bartell has not been seen since.  UPDATE 5/5:  Crime Stories is very grateful to Charlene Bartell taking the time to talk with us about her daughter. We have learned that Nefataree Bartell's body has been found.
