There was a bit of shock, anger and disapproval among my circle of friends and political confidants last week when the Congressional Progressive Caucus officially endorsed Shontel Brown in the primary for the seat she currently holds in Congress over progressive favorite Nina Turner. I voiced my concerns about problems with how the caucus is run, and commiserated with Howie Klein of DownWithTyranny/ Blue America PAC, (my standing guest every Thursday) about the problem with recruiting members of the New Dem Coalition to also join the Progressive Caucus. Much to my surprise, I got a message from Rep. Mark Pocan, one of three co-chairs of the CPC PAC (separate from the caucus), and the former co-chair of the caucus as well. We had a nice conversation, off the air, during which he told me his side of the situation. At the end, we decided we should continue the conversation on the air. So he'll join me this afternoon to do just that...

Many of us were riveted Friday, watching Marjorie Traitor Greene testify at a hearing in GA as she lied her way an unending stream of "I don't remembers" and I don't recalls" as she channeled other ethically challenged Republicans before her, like Alberto Gonzalez' famous 72 denials of memory. Today, John Bonifaz of Free Speech for People, the group representing the plaintiffs in this and other cases challenging members of Congress who participated in the 1-6 insurrection, returns for a recap of what transpired Friday and what we've learned since. Then, as Russia's war against Ukraine enters its third unrelenting month, I'll speak with Christopher Blattman, professor of Global Conflict Studies at the University of Chicago and author of the new book, "Why We Fight: The Roots of War and the Paths to Peace"

Today is Earth Day. To mark the occasion, I'll speak with author Eugene Linden about his new book, "Fire & Flood: A People's History of Climate Change 1979-Present". If we had enacted any of the legislation and protections proposed in the Green New Deal, we'd be in a much better position regarding the fate of the planet than we're currently experiencing. Unfortunately, today we've heard too much (but nothing of substance) from the other kind of green.. .Marjorie Taylor Green to be precise. She was on the stand today in the hearing to determine whether or not she should be allowed to be on the ballot. Challengers are citing Section 3 of the 14th amendment, which says that any elected official who takes an oath to defend our Constitution and then engages in insurrection is barred from holding public office again-- the Insurrectionist Disqualification Clause. Of course, this Green says she doesn't remember anything. I wonder if she has some kind of brain damage that's wiped her memories. Either way, she's unqualified to serve in Congress.

I'm back after a day off hanging with my kid. And what a strange day it is. Florida became even more FloriDUH today with the actions of the governor, whose nickname I've now changed. It was MoRon DeathSentence. Now it's just Ron deSatan, because he is truly evil. I'll explain his latest dictatorial and racist move, with an assist from State Rep Angie Nixon. Then we'll check in with Howie Klein of Down with Tyranny and the Blue America PAC. We will talk politics as usual, but he has a unique perspective about the big story of the day... the demise of CNN+ after just 3 weeks. There's perhaps 3 degrees of separation, if that, between Howie and this story. He'll explain how he exited Warner Brothers, where he was President of Reprise Records, when Time/Warner merged with AOL, what seems like a hundred years ago... Yes, Howie has another fascinating story to tell. And it probably foreshadowed what happened today...

It's that other Tuesday, so Laffy's here. We've got lots to talk about, starting with the idiotic dic -tator MoRon DeathSentence showing just how low he can go. Then there's the "not qualified" by the ABA lawyer who TFG gave a lifetime appointment to as a federal judge based (say it with me) in Florida who single handedly killed the mask mandate for transportation. You can see how the day is going. That said, I do have one bit of encouraging news to share.. but you'll have to tune in to hear what it is!
