A bit of what's news for now

If you heard or tried to watch yesterday's show, you know that I'm in studio gremlin hell. All is still not right with things here, and my scheduled guest had to postpone her appearance. I couldn't just cancel today's show as there's so much going on, that I figured we'll wing it. I'll share some of what I'm watching today, and open the phones to hear from you too. There's the Alex Jones trial, Nancy Pelosi in Taiwan (maybe we should call Taiwan?), the veterans bill that Republicans tanked and are now allegedly supporting, and more... And if everything goes to hell, I have a segment from Brad Friedman's Bradcast about another FloriDUH scam, perpetrated by the largest power company in the country, Florida Power & Light..

It's a Monday, and I'm having one of those days... Thankfully Marcy Wheeler [http://emptywheel.net] is back from her vacation and ready to catch us up on all that's been happening with the J6 committee and the DOJ, and perhaps she'll even have an "I told you so" for us regarding Merrick Garland's intents. And a follow-up on Friday's show with my old friend John Ondrasik. Now I'll tell you what I didn't tell you on Friday and hope you're not too mad at me.

Howie Klein is usually here on Thursdays, but he's taking a couple of weeks off. Today, in his place, I'll speak with one of the Blue American-endorsed candidates here in South Florida. Annette Taddeo was running for Governor, but she dropped out and decided to run for Congress from FL23, a district she can and should win. So we'll talk with Annette at the bottom of the hour, and find out what is going on in Miami, and how we can take it back from the Proud Boys, who've infiltrated the Miami Republican Party's exective committee. But first, Manchin gives back the football? A new spending bill to deal with climate change and health care rising from the ashes of Build Back Better. Could it be true? Will Miss Enema derail it now? We'll take a look at what's happening...

Over the past week, we've met five of the six Democrats vying to be my congressional representative... well Florida's 23rd Congressional district. Today, we'll meet the two candidates running to take on Florida's governor. I actually spoke with Charlie Crist and Nikki Fried in September, but not much has changed since then. So, as I'm still in pain from fracturing two ribs, today, we'll listen back to those interviews. I still have to decide which one I'm voting for in the primary, and those of you not in Florida should know what we're dealing with here. Tomorrow, I'll speak with Annette Taddeo -- she was the third Democrat in that gubernatorial race. She dropped out a few weeks ago to run for Congress from FL27, a seat she can and should win.
