One thing to know about all of the shit emanating from the former guy is that there's a lot of it, and it's all related. From January 6 to violations of the espionage act and other crimes too numerous to recount here, there's more craziness surrounding the orange man from mar a lago that we could possibly cover in an hour. But when Marcy Wheeler is my guest, we certainly try. Although Marcy was here just a few weeks ago, so much has transpired since that I have questions about. We'll begin with the FBI executing a search warrant at mar a lago to find hundreds of classified, even top secret, documents that the former guy absconded with when he left the White House. Tomorrow is finally primary day here in Floriduh, so I thought it was a good time to share the crazy with the rest of the country. This is a big state and, depending where you are, very diverse. Broward County (where I live), home of Fort Lauderdale, is the bluest in the state. Miami-Dade, right next door to our south, used to be reliably blue as well, but with the influx of South American, Cuban and other refugees, and the anti-Socialist scare/propaganda permeating the Spanish-language airwaves, Republican and No Party Affiliation registrations outnumber those for the Democratic Party. This is a state where the governor is a smarter, better educated and more dangerous and dictatorial version of Trump, and anyone who tells you than can predict what will happen is lying. Today, I welcome Peter Schorsch to the show. He's the publisher and executive editor of Florida Politics. He and I will take a walk through the state to share some of the crazy with you.

It's another Friday in August, when normal people should be on vacation. But there's nothing normal around here... so we'll take a mini Flashback Friday trip back to April of 1996 for a session with Semisonic, a band I "discovered" from their demo, long before they had a monster hit with "Closing Time."
