This was a pretty momentous week which came to a climax lat night as the former guy went down to Georgia where he was officially booked, fingerprinted, mug-shotted, and released on $200,000 bond. It was a first in US history, but the fourth arrest for the embattled, twice-impeached, former guy who now has 91 felony counts officially charged in four separate indictments. It's a lot to keep all the facts straight, which is why I'm so lucky to be able to call on Marcy Wheeler to help us understand what's happening.  Marcy is an independent journalist specializing in national and foreign affairs, writing at emptywheel.net. As I do with this show, she operates without a paywall, trusting that those who value her work and can afford to support it will do so.  Marcy has been a fairly frequent guest on this show for about a dozen years or so already, and she just agreed to come on for a regularly weekly segment. With all the action coming up over the next months and years, we have lots to discuss.   So we start today with Trump surrendering at the Fulton County Jail last night. In true Trumpian form, he tweeted out his mug shot with the caption "Never Surrender". He had just surrendered. Welcome to opposite world.

We watched it so you didn't have to. Yes, I suffered through the entire two hours last night, though it wasn't easy. I was ready to bolt before the first question was even asked, for good reason. I'll explain and share some of the moments that had me almost throw my phone through the TV screen! Then we'll get Howie Klein [http://downwithtyranny.com/] on the line. I really didn't expect him to watch the spectacle, but I guess it's like that train wreck you can't turn away from. But I was watching his feed on Xitter pronounced Shitter and he was all over it. So we'll certainly talk about the shit show that it was. And of course, tonight's the night TFG surrenders to the Fulton County jail, gets mug-shotted and finger printed and whatever other indignities happen to people who break numerous laws. Bring on the mug shot!! PS Well, I couldn't get hold of Howie. My calls went to voicemail (once I got the phone to work). He said he could hear me but I couldn't hear him. I have no idea what happened other than the fact that Mercury went retrograde again yesterday! Of course it did....

Big news... tonight is the first primary debate of the 2024 presidential season. There's also that Russian plane crash (the murder of Putin's #1 foe!) and Donny Jr and his sidekick being banned from the Fox Noise spin room... but we'll save those stories and the others bubbling under for the actual show. It's a crazy Monday and all bets are off. Well, they're on if you're betting on what Trump's weight will be when he presents himself to the Fulton County Jail sometime this week to  be formally fingerprinted, mug-shotted and, yes, weighed before going behind bars then before the judge to be arraigned before being released on bail. Seriously, all that will happen one day this week... a week that will also see the other Republicans vying for the nomination to run against Joe Biden in Nov 2024.... As if the Gods were trying to send a message, a hurricane -- named HILARY - hit Southern California and while So Cal was still getting lashed by what had become Tropical Storm Hilary, they got slammed by an actual earthquake! No shit! So today, it's all of that and whatever else you'd like to talk about. I want to talk about Section 3 of the 14th Amendment that bars Trump from ever seeking or taking office again.  We all need to get on the same page eventually, right??

It's finally Friday! If you can remember all the way back to Monday (I know, it feels like it was a long time ago), you'll recall we were delighted by two women with a bullhorn and a beat, serenading Ron DeeSantis with a catchy little ditty that goes "Pudding Fingers, pudding fingers, go back to Florida pudding fingers"... Well, we now know who they are -- Heather Ryan and her niece Kara Ryan. They've made their activism an official PAC, now called Bitches Get Stuff Done! You can join them at bitchesgetstuffdone.org. And they'll join us at the top of the hour! Then, of course we know there's no real climate change... But a Category 4 hurricane -- named Hillary, no less -- is headed straight for Southern California. Brad Friedman and Desi Doyen are bugging out... so we'll try to reach them on the road to find out wtf is going on!

It's Thursday. Weekly for the past dozen years or so, Howie Klein has stepped away from the desk at downwithtyranny.com to join me on the air for an hour to talk politics... and usually music too! Today, lots of politics to discuss from Trump indictment #4 to those conspicuously absent from any of the indictments (ie Lindsey Graham, Ginni Thomas, and the Trump spawn, just to name a few), to the implosion of the Florida man's campaign and more...

Well, now we know that imminent can mean eventually! Fani Willis said charges against the former guy were imminent way back in January. But last night, right around 8pm ET, the Grand Jury filed back into the Fulton County courtroom and handed the judge the indictment-- a whopping 98 pages, 41 counts and, in addition to Cheeto Musselini, 18 other defendants and 30 un-indicted co-conspirators.
