The Nicole Sandler Show
Nicole Sandler has worked in radio her entire adult life. After a successful career in music radio in NY and Los Angeles (WPLJ, KLOS, KSCA and others), she returned to talk radio to host mornings on then-progressive talk WINZ/Miami. After a flip to sports, she moved to Air America Radio for a nightly show. When AAR went off the air on Jan 21, 2010, Nicole Sandler moved online where she continues to question authority daily at nicolesandler.com.

20240104 Nicole Sandler Show - 101 Ways to Rock Life with Dayna Steele
Dayna Steele is one of my heroes. She moved on from a very successful career in rock radio to basically take on the world. If nothing else, hearing from Dayna today should give you some new inspiration that you can do anything you set your mind to. From rocking the Houston TX airwaves to authoring over a dozen books, running for Congress (now for a second time), to writing and mounting a dark comedy play about navigating her mother's battle with Alzheimer's (running in Palm Springs this March) to spending a year on the road with her husband #oneplanetoneyear.
Seriously. Get ready to be inspired.

We're doing something a bit different this year... All the songs in this year's special Christmas music show were performed live on the air and in front of a live audience during the Mark & Brian Christmas Shows from 1990-1993, the years I was Producer. These renditions are not available anywhere else, so enjoy...
I'd give you the rundown of who you'll hear, but that would spoil the surprise. So listen and enjoy!

20231222 Nicole Sandler Show - One More Emptywheel Friday for 2023
But she'll be back in 2024!
As usual, Marcy Wheeler [http://emptywheel.net/]and I hook up on Zoom Friday mornings Arizona time, which is late afternoon for Marcy in Limerick, Ireland. Today, a couple of hours after we finished recording, the Supreme Court ruled on Jack Smith's motion to leapfrog the appeals court asking SCOTUS to rule quickly on whether the former guy is immune from prosecution over his actions while in the White House. Well, in a one-sentence order with no noted dissent simply read "The petition for a writ of certiorari before judgement is denied." I guess that's the extreme court's version of coal in our Christmas stocking. Bastards.
Oh well, there's still lots worth hearing in our last Emptywheel Friday of the year.
For some reason, the video was choppy for the first few minutes. I moved it to the other computer and it worked just fine, so please bear with us for a a bit...
We'll be back the first week of January for more.
