The Nicole Sandler Show is headquartered in South Florida. Tropical Storm Dorian is headed our way and is expected to make landfall in the Sunshine State sometime Monday. Lucky for me, it looks to be aiming for a point a bit further north up the east coast. It's only coincidence that we're featuring Floriduh on today's show. First up, Broward County Commissioner Steve Geller, who chairs a new group called the "Real Solutions Caucus" who are pushing for anyone but Sanders or Warren as the Democrats' 2020 nominee. Then we'll move a bit higher up the food chain to speak with my Congressman Ted Deutch... talking impeachment, elections, guns and lots more.

This weekend, the DNC held its Summer Meetings in San Francisco, where the DNC establishment voted down a motion for a climate-themed debate in a couple of contentious days of debate and votes. An old radio colleague of mine, Matt Keating [http://twitter.com/Matthew_Keating], is now a progressive activist, elected official and DNC member, who was there. He'll check in to tell us what happened. Then, it's Tuesday, so GottaLaff [http://twitter.com/gottalaff] is here to shoot the shit on everything happening in our crazy world.

The existence of a free press is so important to any functioning democracy that the founders enshrined it in the first amendment to the constitution, declaring that Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech or of the press. Sadly, the current administration doesn't seem to understand the directive. Today, Nicole Sandler welcomes two of her favorite journalists back to the show.
