We're halfway through the first virtual political convention as the nation is still hobbled by the coronavirus. And it just might change the way we do these things from here on out. Hopefully. On today's show, we'll hear some highlights from the first two nights. As usual, we'll have the latest news-- including what's happening with the USPS. I'm joined by LCDR Greg Keeley, a veteran, and president of The Council on American Security, who explains that his meds are now 12 days late and counting, thanks to the USPS sabotage.

Today marks the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote. It's not exactly been an easy climb since then, but it is a centennial we must acknowledge. So Cultural HERstorian Amy Simon, the woman behind the play "She's History: The Most Dangerous Women in America, Then & Now" joins me to regale us with some fabulous female stories about the women who came before us. The 2020 Democratic National Convention began last night in all of its virtual glory. I'll begin the show with a recap and some of the highlights too.

It feels like we're in a pressure cooker ready to blow its top! The first virtual national political convention ever gets underway tonight and the Democrats are playing with fire. The Philadelphia Inquirer's Will Bunch joins me at the top of the show to talk about the DNC and the even bigger story today, the sabotage of the USPS by the president as another way to steal the November election. We also have a Monday Music segment today. South Florida-based Y&T Records is out today with a new album of protest song covers by Florida-connected artists to benefit Guitars Over Guns. We'll speak with Y&T founder Rich Ulloa about this important project and listen to a song or two.

One of the progressive movement's stalwart elder statesmen is Norman Solomon He's a journalist, activist, author, media critic and former Congressional candidate. He is a true progressive and has been walking the talk for decades. As co-founder of RootsAction.org [http://RootsAction.org/?fbclid=IwAR2oUAoBbSXoocXLoBUK7L-HtDCSOD37ow7CcWzGxV2xOXWuLMxvzdSRHm0], he launched a new campaign last week aimed at progressives who are not happy about having to vote for Joe Biden, called "Vote Trump Out"... Norman Solomon joins the show today to make the case to my progressive brothers and sisters for voting for Biden/Harris in swing states to get rid of Trump... and then turning our attention to pushing the new administration from the left.
