The news gets more outlandish with each passing day. Today, the feds announced they thwarted a plot to kidnap MI Gov Gretchen Whitmer and overthrow the government. Seriously. And Donald Trump, who announced his Covid-19 diagnosis just days ago now says he's "cured" and is ready to hit the campaign trail and hold rallies again. Today is Thursday, so Howie Klein returns for our weekly get-together. With a ton of crazy to choose from, I'm sure it'll be an interesting discussion today!

Today is a weird anniversary. It was four years ago today - 10/7/16- that three major news stories all broke within a 90-minute period. The most important of the three was virtually ignored by the media, adding to the factors that came together to propel Donald Trump into the presidency. Today, we'll discuss that story- about the Russians' interference in the election- that pretty much fell through the cracks with David Shimer, author of the new book, "Rigged: America, Russia, and One Hundred Years of Covert Electoral Interference."

The reality of life in America in 2020 is the stuff of every dystopian nightmare we've ever had. Nothing makes sense any more, and it's all capped off by a strange display of insanity from the orange man occupying the oval office who is now denying the severity of his Covid-19 infection. When faced with this level of fubar, it's best to deal with it with friends. As the covid count continues to grow with the names of Republican representatives, White House workers, and Trump toadies getting positive test results as the orange one himself continues to play down the crisis, including his OWN infection. At times like this, we need laughter! So, our guest today is Harry Shearer. After months of downplaying its dangers and existence, Donald Trump last night tested positive for COVID-19. There's a lot to say, and lots of bitten tongues to keep from saying things we shouldn't... but in this season of chaos and turmoil, emotions are running high.
