20120129 Nicole Sandler Show - Changes with Robyn Kincaid and Boca Britany Somers
We live in an ever-changing world. The post-Trump era will hopefully bring positive change (though the crazy contingent is running the Republican party these days, a topic for another day). But I discovered that a broadcasting colleague, a friendly acquaintance for many years has transitioned to her authentic self. The person that I used to know as Bob Kincaid from the Head On Radio Network (headon.live) is now Robyn Kincaid. This is a big deal! I reached out to congratulate her and asked if she'd like to come on the show to talk about it. She said she'd love to-- and I thought she'd like to meet my dear friend Boca Brit Somers (thebritsomersshow.com), also a trans woman and a broadcaster. So, they both join me today for a fascinating conversation.

20210128 Nicole Sandler Show - Arrested for Committing Democracy and Thursday with Howie Klein
Things are slowly getting back to normal in the aftermath of Trump, but he took us so far out in right field that it's going to take a while. As the 117th Congress settles in, we see big problems arising, especially with a few of the freshmen Republicans like Marjorie Taylor Green, Lauren Boebert and Madison Caufield. We're learning more about Taylor Green because of some old video and Facebook posts that have surfaced and show just how malevolent she is. And today we learned that her people threatened to arrest a reporter who dared to ask a question at a Town Hall meeting. Funny, I had a similar experience almost 10 years ago now. I'll explain. And Howie Klein is here. Now that the Biden administration and the 117th Congress are all up and running, it's time to start planning for the 2022 midterms.

20210127 Nicole Sandler Show - I Got Maced and a Return to Russia!
As my regular listeners know, I try to find something funny to share each show as laughter is good for us, especially along with all the serious shit we deal with each day. Today, I stumbled upon something that's obviously been a thing for a few weeks now. I'm slow sometimes. But a cottage industry has grown around Elizabeth from Knoxville Tennessee who "got maced" when she stormed the Capitol with the other insurrectionists who descended on DC three weeks ago today. So I shared with you a few of the "I Got Maced" original compositions that have sprung up recently, and topped it off with a song about the teary woman from That Guitar Man from Central Park. (I'll post a bunch of them on my site where I post the show- today's will be up at https://nicolesandler.com/1-27-21).
After the fun, we move on to the serious stuff... Yesterday, President Biden spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin for the first time as POTUS. We actually got a readout of the call telling us all the issues Biden confronted him on (for which Trump gave him a pass). It's just coincidence, I'm sure, that Craig Unger's new book, "American Kompromat: How the KGB Cultivated Donald Trump, and Related Tales of Sex, Greed, Power and Treachery" was released. Regardless, Craig Unger joins us today to explain how Trump actually was a Russian asset, and has been for decades!

20210126 Nicole Sandler Show - The First Post-D'ump Tuesday with GottaLaff
President Joe Biden was inaugurated on Wednesday - 6 days ago. That morning, the Trump family left the White House for good (really good!). So, the party Laffy and I started last Tuesday continues today as we recount the many things Biden has already done to reverse some of the damage done to our nation (and the planet) by Biden's orange, demented predecessor.

20210125 Nicole Sandler Show - First Dogs and Watchdogs
The White House finally has dogs back in residence again. After four years without any four-legged residents, the Biden White House has two! Both Champ and Major are German Shepherds, and Major is the first shelter/rescue dog in residence! They waited until the inauguration excitement was over, and this weekend, the two first pups joined the first family at their new home for the next four (or eight) years. To celebrate, we'll explain the need for watchdog groups, even during a Democratic administration. My guest today is Jeff Hauser, executive director of The Revolving Door Project. They scrutinize executive branch appointees to ensure they use their office to serve the broad public interest, rather than to entrench corporate power or seek personal advancement. Now that Biden is in office and his nominees are in the process of being confirmed, this is a good time to talk about the people our new president is surrounding himself with.
