20210603 Nicole Sandler Show - Thursdays with Howie Klein
It's been a few weeks since we were able to hang with Howie on a Thursday, but we're both here today. The orange one is even more demented than ever, as he's been telling people he'll be reinstated as POTUS in August, and making pronouncements from exile. The crazy is thicker than ever right now. So I'll ask Howie the question that we've been pondering.. can our democracy survive?

20210602 Nicole Sandler Show - Saving our Democracy with Harvey J. Kaye
Republicans are bending over backwards to regain power by any means necessary. In their case, that's lying, cheating and stealing. The laws being passed by Republican-led legislatures in states around the country will, if enacted, allow them to do what they've accused US of doing-- steal the next election and overturn the will of the people. If you're alarmed by that, you should be. It's so bad that President Biden called them out and declared that Democracy in in peril. At a Memorial Day observation, no less. Today, I'm joined by historian, author and Professor Emeritus at UWGB, Harvey J. Kaye to get to the bottom of just how dangerous our situation is right now.

20210601 Nicole Sandler Show - Tuesdays with GottaLaff (She's Back!)
It's June! Yesterday was Memorial Day, the unofficial start of summer. And it's also the start of hurricane season. Yeah, lucky us! Today is also the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa race massacre, and the 41st anniversary of the launch of CNN. The Supreme Court term ends at the end of the month, so we're on pins and needles about the outstanding cases and trepidation about how this court will rule on the future of the Affordable Care Act and abortion rights, and lots more. At least we seem to be on the safe side of COVID, but not entirely. Such is life on this first day of June. But @GottaLaff is back, so that's good news.

20210531 Nicole Sandler From the Archives- Oct 17, 2014 prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi
It's Memorial Day, so I'm not doing a live show today. Instead, we go back into my archives for a 2014 interview with the late Vincent Bugliosi. He had written the book, The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder, laying out the entire case for any prosecutor in the country who wanted to take on the case. A companion video had just been released "The Prosecution of an American President for Murder." The murder he's referring to is the murder of all of the US soldiers killed in Iraq. I figured it was good to remember on this Memorial Day.

20210528 Nicole Sandler Show - Looking Into the Political Crystal Ball
Depending on who you ask, Democrats are either looking at disaster in the midterms or they'll wind up with massive majorities in both houses of Congress as the Republican party is killing itself slowly but surely. I finally spoke with famed civil rights attorney Guy Saperstein who these days is a major progressive Democratic donor who believes the next few elections will be huge for the Democrats as the Republican party goes the way of the dodo. We'll follow up that conversation with author David Faris who warns us that if we don't do something to stop the GOP's attempts to infiltrate and destroy our election systems, we are screwed. Then you can decide for yourself. And, oh yeah, the Senate Republicans filibustered the January 6 commission. Yeah, we're screwed alright.
