Scott Dochterman ranks the 40 coaching hires in the Big Ten since 1999. The conference today has been shaped by these decisions over the last 22 years. Former great Wisconsin Head Coach Barry Alvarez announced his retirement as Badgers AD this week. He made three of the hires: Paul Chryst, Bret Bielema and Gary Anderson. Urban Meyer shaped the conference when he became the Head Coach of Ohio State.
