Show #511 – Shadows

Show #511 - Shadows Description In this episode, we discuss a video put out by Right Response Ministries in which the hosts claim that it is a sin for Christians to celebrate things like Passover because this is just a shadow of a heavenly reality. But is this line of reasoning a legitimate biblical argument? Not only do we disagree with this idea, but we show how the Scriptures disagree with such an idea.If it were wrong to observe the shadows of heavenly realities, then why does Paul go to the temple in Acts 21? Why would we still practice baptism or marriage? If celebrating a picture is offensive to the thing it is a picture of then why would we celebrate wedding anniversaries, or birthdays? Check out this weeks episode. Show #510 – More on Passover

Show #510 - More on Passover Description In this episode, we look at several follow questions that came in from our last show. We also look at a timeline that someone put together that suggests Yeshua died on a Wednesday and why we believe that if all four gospels are taken into account, this cannot be correct. One of the main things people want to teach is that Yeshua had to die at the same time the Passover lambs were being slain, yet, if this is true then the synoptics Gospels are wrong and have a mistake in them. We talk ab out all this and more on this show. Show #509 – Preparation Day

Show #509 - Preparation Day Description In this episode, we discuss the chronology of the Passion, namely, how do we deal with the sign of Jonah if we believe Yeshua was crucified on a Friday. We discuss how the two chronologies, the chronology from the synoptic Gospels and the chronology from John, line up?We also look at the term “Preparation day” and what this meant in the first-century and how the people in the first-century would have understood it. Show #508 – The Standard Calendar

Show #508 -The Standard Calendar Description In this episode, we discuss a question concerning the laws of God and if some of them are changed depending on circumstances like not having a temple. This leads into several conversations about how the moon was cited in the first century and why so many people today are attempting to celebrate Passover on a different day than the traditional calendar has. Finally, we look at the setting of the Hebrew calendar and if this should be followed and why the Church set Easter on the day they did. Show #507 – I’ll Pass on Passover

Show #507 - I'll Pass on Passover Description In this episode, we once again come back to the conversation we had last week about circumcision with some clarification from those who hold other positions. Those in the Torah movement that don’t believe the Torah commands adult male circumcision are not saying it is a bad thing, but rather, that there is simply no command in Torah for adult males to be circumcised. We discuss this and give our take on it.We look at passage such as the Passover narrative and discuss if this is in fact a command for adults to be circumcised. Also, what about Yeshua’s statement that He will not eat the Passover again until He does so in the Kingdom. Will Yeshua require circumcision to partake with Him since it is a command to do so in the Torah? Show #506 – Timothy, Titus, and Circumcision Today

Show #506 - Timothy, Titus, and Circumcision Today Description In this episode, we discuss Paul’s circumcision of Timothy and why Paul would do such a thing if he believed circumcision was done away with. We also look at Galatians 2 and Titus not being compelled to be circumcised. We also discuss the idea of being “cut off” and what this may mean. If a believer should be circumcised, then what happens if they’re not? Does this mean they are cut off? This leads to a conversation about the idea by many believers that a person can lose their salvation. Show #505 – Understanding Acts 10

Show #505 - Understanding Acts 10 Description In this episode, we discuss Acts 10 and Peter’s vision. Does God really show Peter that the dietary laws found in the Law are no longer applicable for believers in Yeshua? We look at this passage and discuss why we think this interpretation does not line up with biblical theology as a whole. In order to show this we look at several other passages in the Scriptures. If Peter’s vision is about the dietary laws no longer being applicable for believers, why does God talk about clean and unclean food in the prophecies of Revelation and Isaiah? We discuss these passages and how why Peter’s vision is not about kosher food. Show #504 – Understanding Galatians

Show #504 - Understanding Galatians Description In this episode, we look at several passages from the book of Galatians that the Church has commonly used to say the laws of Moses are no longer required to be kept by believers. Specifically, we look at Gal. 4:21-26 and 5:3. What does it mean that a person who is circumcised is obligated to keep the whole law? And also, why does Paul equate Hagar with the covenant of Sinai? Doesn’t this prove that the law is a bad thing?Throughout our conversation, we continue to point these passages back to the Gospel message that Paul proclaims in Galatians 3:8 and the curse that he talks about in 3:10. These references are central to Paul’s point in the rest of the book. Show #503 – The Wrath of God

Show #503 - The Wrath of God Description In this episode, we have several discussions, one that looks at places where the Scriptures talk about what happened when Yeshua died on the cross and if the Father’s wrath was poured out on the Son, then we turn to a discussion about the difference between Acts 15:1 and 15:5. We then return to our conversation about the wrath of God and what this “wrath” actually would look like in relationship wo the cross.Another discussion we have looks at the difference between the Masoretic text and the Greek LXX. What do we do with the difference we find in the quoted scripture of the New Testament where the Greek translation of the Bible is quoted? Going through some examples we attempt to show the differences and how these should be viewed. Show #502 – Atonement

Show #502 - Atonement Description In this episode, we start by looking at a common theological position within Christianity that believes a person was justified through the sacrificial system before Christ came. According to this position, a person was justified by the blood of the sacrifices, something that had to be done continually, but Christ came to make it so that people no longer had to offer sacrifices. Now we are justified through faith in Yeshua the Messiah. It is our position that the sacrificial system did not deal with justification of the soul in the spiritual realm, but that it dealt with physical defilement of sin in this world and the physical space of the temple. According to our belief, salvation has always been through faith in Yeshua, both before and after He came to earth. Passages focused on in this episode are Hebrews 10:4 and Lev. 17:11.
