Show #511 - Shadows Description In this episode, we discuss a video put out by Right Response Ministries in which the hosts claim that it is a sin for Christians to celebrate things like Passover because this is just a shadow of a heavenly reality. But is this line of reasoning a legitimate biblical argument? Not only do we disagree with this idea, but we show how the Scriptures disagree with such an idea.If it were wrong to observe the shadows of heavenly realities, then why does Paul go to the temple in Acts 21? Why would we still practice baptism or marriage? If celebrating a picture is offensive to the thing it is a picture of then why would we celebrate wedding anniversaries, or birthdays? Specifically, we look at Gal. 4:21-26 and 5:3. What does it mean that a person who is circumcised is obligated to keep the whole law? And also, why does Paul equate Hagar with the covenant of Sinai? Show #502 - Atonement Description In this episode, we start by looking at a common theological position within Christianity that believes a person was justified through the sacrificial system before Christ came. According to this position, a person was justified by the blood of the sacrifices, something that had to be done continually, but Christ came to make it so that people no longer had to offer sacrifices. Now we are justified through faith in Yeshua the Messiah.It is our position that the sacrificial system did not deal with justification of the soul in the spiritual realm, but that it dealt with physical defilement of sin in this world and the physical space of the temple. According to our belief, salvation has always been through faith in Yeshua, both before and after He came to earth. Passages focused on in this episode are Hebrews 10:4 and Lev. 17:11.
