It's been over a year since Hamas abducted more than two hundred hostages from Israel and forced them into captivity in underground tunnels of Gaza. Those taken ranged in all ages from toddlers to seniors with about a hundred still remaining captive. President Biden commuted the sentences of 37 out of the 40 inmates on federal death row. The administration is touting the move, celebrating American history's "largest single-day grant of clemency." In total, President Biden has pardoned 65 individuals and commuted sentences for 1,634 inmates during his time in office. A 33-year-old Guatemalan migrant has been arrested in connection in the death of a woman who was set on fire inside a subway train in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. It remains unclear if he entered the United States legally or illegally, but police said he was detained in Arizona in June of 2018. The fatal incident occurred Sunday morning on a train when police say the suspect approached a sleeping woman and lit her clothing on fire with a lighter.
