Episode 109- Is your running or life being held back by insecurities? with TEDx speaker, author, coach and host of the Insecurity Project Podcast: Jaemin Frazer

Today, I spoke with Jaemin Frazer who is; a runner, a TEDx Speaker, author of two books (‘Unhindered: The 7 essential practices for overcoming insecurity’ and ‘Elegantly simple solutions to complex people problems’), Insecurity expert & coach, as well as being the host of; ‘The Insecurity Project Podcast’. Jaemin founded the Insecurity Project so people the world over could live a life unhindered by fear, doubt and anxiety. I was so rapt to get Jaemin on the show, as I feel these self-limiting beliefs are often unacknowledged by many of the runners/patients I treat and swept under the carpet. Rather than masking, medicating, or managing your insecurities, Jaemin uses a proven framework to allow you to show up at your best where it matters most, unhindered by self-doubt, fear, and limiting beliefs. As Jaemin says; ‘To be unhindered by insecurity is to become fully human, free to be alive, living unconstrained. It is to show up as the best version of yourself in the real world, totally present and unguarded with nothing to prove and defend. It is to create a life where an escape is not needed. It is to operate with power and grace in the world. It is to live your life the way you know you are capable of and, by doing so, to leave your mark on the planet.’ Is your running or life being held back by insecurities? Episode 107- Vanessa Alford- ‘Fit not Healthy.’

Today, I was very fortunate to chat to Vanessa Alford. I found Vanessa Alford’s book ‘Fit not healthy’ in the Frankston library about 1 month ago and was intrigued by the title. So, I borrowed the book and read her story. It’s such an important story for any goal orientated, super focused, passionate runner to hear. In the book, Vanessa bravely details her journey with exercise addiction and disordered eating. Vanessa is a former elite marathoner, an experienced physiotherapist, a pilates instructor, public speaker, has a background in nutrition, has extensive experience working in the health and wellness industry, and is the mother of three kids. Today, Vanessa talks about the difference between harmonious and obsessive passion, she shares what she thinks lead to her exercise addiction, she talks about how running became her everything, how selfish she became, she speaks of the denial, been controlled by that ‘little voice’ in her head, the turning point and advice to other runners based on her own experiences. Please, share this podcast to whoever you feel will benefit, it’s a powerful chat! If you want to reach out to Vanessa Alford for advice/help or to purchase her book she kindly stated her email in the podcast; ness130@hotmail.com Thanks once again @alfordvanessa for sharing your story today! Episode 103 - Are you currently Impatient or Frustrated with your Running? With @dion_finocchiaro

Patience is a skill that the even the best of us at times struggle to practice. So easy is it to become frustrated when those goals that you set, or want to set, are just far enough out of reach - at least for now. It is important at these times that we remain level-headed and remember to look at the bigger picture. Australian 50km Record Holder, Dion (@dion_finocchiaro), joins Dane on the latest podcast to discuss how as runners we can write our own “yellow pages” of training - the kind of training that doesn’t tear as easily as a flimsy magazine. Dion likens such training to a well-baked cake - not too runny, not over done, but instead even throughout. It is an insightful and informed conversation on how we can stay grounded in our training, recover from injury, and potentially how such an approach can keep us injury free.
