Day 166: 1 Kings 9-10

Solomon reached the peak of power and wisdom—but underneath the gold was a slow crumble of compromise. In today’s reading (1 Kings 9–11), we trace the unraveling of Israel’s most successful king. While the temple was finished and riches poured in, Solomon’s heart quietly drifted. These chapters aren’t just about wealth or women—they’re about a divided heart. From store cities that echo Pharaoh to gold-covered shields that serve no purpose, Solomon’s story warns us: compromise doesn’t crash in—it creeps. This episode explores how wisdom, when used for self instead of service, becomes a curse—and how even the most spiritual success can become spiritual ruin when our hearts are divided.✈️ Overview:• Solomon finishes the temple—but cracks in his integrity grow deeper• God appears again, warning Solomon to walk in David’s footsteps• Solomon trades land for gold, builds store cities, and begins to look like Pharaoh• Queen of Sheba visits—but is impressed with Solomon, not Yahweh• Solomon amasses gold, horses, wives—and eventually, idolatry• God raises up adversaries and announces the kingdom will be torn🔎 Context Clues:• The kingdom splits after chapter 11—this is the last moment of united monarchy• Solomon’s compromises violate Deuteronomy 17’s commands for kings• His Egyptian ties and temple-centric confidence mirror Judah’s future downfall• The 666 talents of gold reference human strength without divine dependence• Jeroboam emerges as a Moses-like figure—while Solomon becomes a new Pharaoh🤓 Nerdy Nuggets:• Solomon gives away land—violating God’s gift to Israel (1 Kings 9:11)• He builds “store cities” like Pharaoh (compare 1 Kings 9:19 and Exodus 1:11)• The temple is followed by endless mentions of gold—more than 49 billion dollars’ worth• 666 talents of gold per year signals humanism (six being man’s number)• Shields made of gold are useless in battle—beauty without function• Solomon quotes God with subtle distortion—blending divine truth with ambition• His many wives lead to idol worship of Molech and Chemosh—gods tied to child sacrifice• The robe-torn prophecy echoes Saul’s downfall, signaling divine rejection✅ Timeless Truths:• Compromise always starts small—accumulating, justifying, hiding• Wisdom is meant to serve others—not accumulate power• A divided heart is more dangerous than a sinful act—because it looks fine from the outside• Idolatry often begins with love—loving the wrong things too much• Success without surrender eventually collapses• Just because God blessed the beginning doesn’t mean He approves of the driftSolomon’s story isn’t just a cautionary tale—it’s a mirror. His wisdom was divine, but his choices were human. He built a legacy but lost his heart. In these chapters, the warning is clear: it’s possible to have God’s blessing and still drift from His presence. Obedience, not outcome, is the scorecard of a faithful life. Because when the gold piles up and the praises roll in, the real question remains: does God still have your heart?🚀 START HERE!Want to join us on the journey? Check out the Start Page! Day 165: 1 Kings 5-8

Solomon built the most glorious temple Israel had ever seen—but what if it wasn’t God’s idea? In today’s reading (1 Kings 5–8), we dig into one of the most challenging and overlooked questions in the Bible: Was God ever for the temple? While churches often praise Solomon’s achievement, the text tells a more complex story—one marked by forced labor, political power plays, and religious architecture that looks more Phoenician than Hebraic. Today’s episode explores why the temple might have been a human concession, not a divine command—and what it teaches us about misplaced glory, spiritual compromise, and the difference between what God allows and what He actually desires.✈️ Overview:• Solomon begins construction on the temple—but uses slaves to do it• The temple is completed in seven years, but Solomon’s palace takes thirteen• Solomon dedicates the temple with grand words—but some of those words twist God’s original promises• God’s glory fills the temple, yet the narrative hints that this wasn’t His ideal dwelling place🔎 Context Clues:• Unlike the tabernacle, God never dictates instructions for the temple—David and Solomon design it themselves• The temple becomes centralized in Jerusalem, creating a power shift that benefits Judah politically• Solomon’s reign echoes Deuteronomy 17 warnings: foreign wives, accumulation of wealth, and misuse of power• Temple worship replaces tabernacle flexibility—but also introduces long-term spiritual vulnerabilities• Written during exile, 1 Kings subtly critiques the very system that led Israel to ruin🤓 Nerdy Nuggets:• The temple stones are dressed with tools—directly contradicting Exodus 20:25 and Deuteronomy 27:5• The cherubim Solomon builds are oversized, overshadowing the ark—man’s glory eclipsing God’s• The architecture mirrors Phoenician pagan designs, not covenantal patterns from the tabernacle• Solomon quotes God as saying things He never said—highlighting a theological bait-and-switch• Hebrews and John affirm the tabernacle as God’s true design, not the temple• The temple will be destroyed multiple times—unlike the untouchable tabernacle✅ Timeless Truths:• Just because something is impressive doesn’t mean it’s obedient• We often build things for God that reflect our glory, not His• God desires to dwell with people—not in buildings, systems, or institutions• Beware of putting words in God’s mouth to justify human ambition• Misinterpreting God’s will can lead to beautiful disasters—monuments to our ego, not His presenceSolomon’s temple dazzled the world—but its foundation was cracked from the start. God never needed a temple. He desired a tabernacle: mobile, humble, and centered on presence, not power. The temptation to build something “permanent” for God often reflects our need for control, not His command. As we read 1 Kings, we’re invited to ask: Are we building temples or making space for God’s presence to move freely? Because sometimes the most impressive thing you build…wasn’t God’s idea at all.🚀 START HERE!Want to join us on the journey? Check out the Start Page! Day 164: 1 Kings 1-4

When Solomon became king, his first moves weren’t promising—political alliances, foreign wives, and dangerous decisions. But one divine moment changed everything: he asked God for wisdom. In today’s reading (1 Kings 1–4), we explore how wisdom transformed Solomon’s reign—and how the search for success, power, and legacy can lead us off course without God’s guidance. We’ll also unpack how 1 & 2 Kings fits into the exile story, why prophets show up here, and why wisdom still matters for leaders today.✈️ Overview:• Transition from David’s reign to Solomon’s kingship• Adonijah’s failed attempt to seize the throne• Solomon eliminates key political rivals and consolidates power• Solomon asks God for wisdom at Gibeon• Solomon’s wisdom brings justice and national flourishing🔎 Context Clues:• 1 & 2 Kings were originally one unified scroll• Written during the Babylonian exile (586–539 BC), explaining why Israel was exiled and how God’s justice works• The book asks: What makes a king successful?• After Solomon, the kingdom will split: Israel (10 tribes) in the north, Judah (1 tribe) in the south• The narrative provides historical context for the prophetic books (Isaiah, Micah, Jonah, etc.)🤓 Nerdy Nuggets:• 1 Kings opens with the word and—indicating a seamless continuation from 2 Samuel• David’s inability to “conquer” sexually signals a power vacuum that sparks political instability• Solomon rides a mule—a royal symbol, not a sign of lowliness (ties to Jesus’ triumphal entry)• Solomon breaks Deuteronomy 17’s guidelines early: makes a foreign alliance with Egypt, permits high places worship• High places = worshiping Yahweh in the wrong way, not worshiping false gods—still a major compromise• Solomon’s request for wisdom marks a dramatic narrative shift: wisdom reshapes his leadership✅ Timeless Truths:• Wisdom changes everything: without it, even a gifted leader can misuse power• Right religion, wrong method = idolatry; worship must honor God’s design, not our preferences• Compromise is contagious—early cracks in leadership can ripple through a nation• Leadership demands more than family wisdom or cultural strategy; divine wisdom is essential• Success without wisdom leads to ruin—wisdom without action leads to regretSolomon’s story begins with compromise—but through God’s gift of wisdom, his leadership takes a new direction. As we read 1 Kings, we’re invited to ask the same question: will we lead by human wisdom or by God’s wisdom? Because no matter our starting point, wisdom can change everything.🚀 START HERE!Want to join us on the journey? Check out the Start Page! Day 163: 2 Samuel 22-24

David didn’t recruit the best of the best—he built them. The story of David’s mighty men is one of the most inspiring leadership moments in Scripture. In 2 Samuel 22–24, we meet warriors who started as broken, discontented outcasts—and ended up performing legendary feats of courage and faith. This episode unpacks how David shaped these men, how the book of 2 Samuel intentionally ends with a redemptive tone, and why true leadership is more about formation than recruitment. If you’ve ever doubted whether God can use the broken—you need this one.✈️ Overview:• 2 Samuel 22–24 shifts out of chronological order into a chiastic structure• The book closes on a redemptive note, highlighting David’s heart and leadership• David’s mighty men are introduced—once outcasts, now Israel’s greatest warriors• Two of David’s psalms (outside the Book of Psalms) are included in this section• Final narrative includes a famine, a plague, and stories of atonement and justice🔎 Context Clues:• These final chapters are not sequential—they follow a chiastic (mirror-like) structure• The book’s structure helps the story of David conclude with hope and redemption• David’s mighty men originated from 1 Samuel 22—400 distressed, indebted, discontented men who gathered in the cave of Adullam• David’s leadership style echoes Jesus’—choosing the unlikely and raising them up• The covenant with the Gibeonites (Joshua) is referenced to explain the famine and required atonement🤓 Nerdy Nuggets:• The mighty men’s stories parallel David’s earlier leadership in the cave of Adullam• The structure (famine → psalms → mighty men → plague) reinforces the theme of restoration• Some of David’s psalms are strategically placed here to frame the end of his reign• The death of the Gibeonites’ enemies shows the weight of covenant-breaking in the ancient world• Chiastic structures are a common literary device in Hebrew narrative and poetry✅ Timeless Truths:• Great leaders don’t just attract talent—they form it• Brokenness is not a disqualifier—it’s the raw material for transformation• God honors covenant faithfulness—even across generations• The most powerful leadership is done life-on-life, not through hierarchy or titles• You don’t need to be impressive to be used by God—you need to be available and willing to growThe final chapters of 2 Samuel remind us that leadership isn’t about perfection—it’s about shaping people. David’s legacy wasn’t just written in psalms or victories; it was embodied in the men he led and the lives he transformed. Wherever you are in your own leadership journey, remember: your impact will be measured not by what you accomplish alone—but by who you raise up along the way.🚀 START HERE!Want to join us on the journey? Day 162: 2 Samuel 18-21

When leadership fails, the consequences ripple far beyond one moment. In 2 Samuel 18–21, we witness the sobering unraveling of David’s leadership as passivity, compromise, and unaddressed sin fracture his family and kingdom. From Absalom’s death to Joab’s unchecked violence to rising division between Israel and Judah, these chapters expose the dangers of moral compromise at the highest levels. Power can’t protect you from justice—and pretending otherwise only deepens the fallout.✈️ Overview:• Absalom’s rebellion ends in his death—despite David’s plea to spare him• Joab disobeys David and murders Absalom, further consolidating his unchecked power• David mourns Absalom excessively, exposing leadership imbalance• A new rebellion arises under Sheba as division spreads between Israel and Judah• Joab murders Amasa, once again undermining David’s authority• A wise unnamed woman saves the city of Abel with courage and wisdom🔎 Context Clues:• David’s leadership downfall traces back to 2 Samuel 10—a butterfly effect of unchecked compromise• Joab holds political leverage over David, knowing his role in Uriah’s death• Israel’s tribal division deepens here, laying groundwork for the split kingdom in 1 Kings• The contrast between David’s passivity and the wise woman’s decisive action is stark and thematic• The story highlights the cumulative danger of avoiding justice for the sake of convenience🤓 Nerdy Nuggets:• Absalom’s death by his hair echoes Eli’s death—vanity and sin often become our undoing• Joab should have been charged with murder multiple times—David’s moral failure keeps him paralyzed• The United Monarchy (Saul, David, Solomon) transitions here toward the divided monarchy of Israel and Judah• The phrase “the forest swallowed more men” shows divine intervention aiding David’s army• Political compromise opens the door for rebellion—Sheba’s uprising is a direct result of Absalom’s unchecked revolt✅ Timeless Truths:• Power used without accountability invites destruction• Unchecked sin in leadership breeds instability and division• Rebellion thrives where justice is delayed or denied• Human idolatry often becomes the very thing that destroys us• Wisdom—not violence—is the most powerful weapon in leadershipDavid’s leadership unraveling wasn’t sudden—it was a slow, predictable slide that began long before the first spear was thrown. The lesson is clear: you can’t play dumb with God, and you can’t lead well when compromised within. If we want to finish well, we must lead with wisdom, accountability, and integrity. The wise woman of Abel shows us that courage and clarity can still stop a war—even when kings falter.🚀 START HERE!Want to join us on the journey? Check out the Start Page! Day 161: 2 Samuel 14-17

The cracks in David’s private life finally break wide open. In 2 Samuel 14–17, we watch his family—and his kingdom—start to unravel from the inside out. As Absalom’s rebellion takes center stage, David’s failures as a father become painfully clear. This episode unpacks how personal compromises can lead to public collapse—and why the hardest leadership role you’ll ever hold is the one inside your own home.✈️ Overview:• Absalom takes center stage, setting in motion a coup against David.• David’s private life, not his public enemies, becomes his greatest undoing.• The text echoes patterns from Genesis—Absalom is portrayed as a new Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and even Ham.• David’s inability to discipline or deal justly with his own sons sets the stage for disaster.• The tension between divine providence and natural consequences is on full display.🔎 Context Clues:• The story follows Absalom’s murder of Amnon, driven by David’s failure to respond to Amnon’s rape of Tamar.• Like Jacob’s sons avenging Dinah in Genesis, Absalom takes justice into his own hands when his father does nothing.• Absalom’s bid to usurp power mirrors ancient patterns of patriarchal takeover: his public defilement of David’s concubines mirrors Reuben’s sin against Jacob and Ham’s sin against Noah.• The backdrop of Genesis helps frame the moral and familial collapse now unfolding in David’s story.🤓 Nerdy Nuggets:• Absalom’s actions—staging a coup, sleeping with his father’s concubines—are culturally recognized as a public power grab.• His rebellion is obvious, not subtle: Hebron was chosen deliberately as a symbolic site for his claim to kingship.• Joab clearly views Absalom as the only viable heir, manipulating events to restore him from exile.• David fails repeatedly to discipline Joab, Amnon, and Absalom—revealing a deep flaw in his leadership at home.• Contrappasso: poetic justice is woven through the narrative—Absalom’s vanity about his hair ultimately leads to his death.✅ Timeless Truths:• God holds justice and mercy in perfect tension—David swings to extremes and fails to reflect this divine balance.• Parenting is a harder, weightier calling than leading publicly; failure in the home undermines success elsewhere.• It is easy to stack public wins while neglecting private integrity—yet God measures us by how we lead and love in the relationships closest to us.• Leaders must learn to live in the tension of grace and truth—avoiding the extremes that cause harm to those they lead and love.In the end, David’s greatest battle wasn’t with Goliath or Saul—it was the battle to lead well at home. His failure as a father ultimately fractures both his family and his kingdom. May this sobering story call us all to examine the integrity of our private lives and pursue the kind of leadership that begins with faithfulness at home.🚀 START HERE!Want to join us on the journey? Day 160: 2 Samuel 11-13

David’s beliefs were right. His worship was sincere. But when it came to character, his power corrupted him—and the consequences were devastating. In 2 Samuel 11–13, we see one of the most tragic spirals in Scripture: David’s unchecked pride leads to sexual abuse, murder, and the unraveling of his own family. This sobering story reminds us that right beliefs without right character can destroy everything. From Bathsheba to Uriah to Amnon and Tamar, these chapters force us to confront our own blind spots—and lean wholly on the mercy and justice of God.✈️ Overview:• David remains in Jerusalem while his army goes to war—setting the stage for moral failure• David rapes Bathsheba, then orchestrates the murder of her husband Uriah to cover it up• The prophet Nathan confronts David; David repents, but severe consequences follow• David’s son Amnon rapes his sister Tamar, continuing the family’s downward spiral• Absalom murders Amnon in revenge, foreshadowing deeper division to come🔎 Context Clues:• Chapter 10 sets up why David was at home instead of at war in Chapter 11—his success breeds complacency• The repeated word “sent” in 2 Samuel 11 reveals a deeper power problem at the root of David’s sin• The sword David brings upon Uriah will now remain in David’s house—a poetic and just consequence from God• Bathsheba is portrayed as obedient to Torah law; the narrative makes clear that David abuses power, not that Bathsheba tempts him• Uriah, a Hittite convert, displays more integrity than David—highlighting the tragic irony of this passage🤓 Nerdy Nuggets:• Bathing on the roof was culturally normal—Bethsheba was following purification laws, not seeking attention• Repeated mention of “sending” shows David’s transition from servant leader to authoritarian manipulator• In ancient warfare, attacking a city wall was tactically foolish—Joab devises a modified plan to carry out David’s command• Uriah carrying his own death letter is a chilling foreshadowing of Jesus carrying His cross• The narrative carefully humanizes Bathsheba (daughter, wife) to highlight David’s dehumanizing sin• David’s phrase about the sword “falling where it will” is later mirrored in God’s judgment: “the sword will not depart from your house.”✅ Timeless Truths:• Unchecked power corrupts—even in people with sincere faith• Right beliefs mean nothing without right character• God’s grace forgives, but it does not erase consequences• Sin never delivers on its promise of satisfaction; it always leaves destruction in its wake• When leaders refuse accountability, their fall ripples through everyone around themDavid was a man after God’s heart—but in these chapters, we see the danger of an unguarded heart. Success, spiritual authority, and sincere worship can’t cover up the cracks of pride and compromise. Let this sobering moment in Scripture drive us to humility: right theology must be matched with right character. Otherwise, the sword never leaves the house.🚀 START HERE!Want to join us on the journey? Check out the Start Page! Day 159: 2 Samuel 8-10

David’s kingdom is expanding—and so is the danger beneath the surface. In today’s reading (2 Samuel 8–10), we see David at the height of his power, celebrated for his victories and praised for his kindness. But success isn’t neutral. The seeds of his future downfall are already taking root. As David begins to act more like a secular king—subjugating enemies for wealth, forming political alliances, and growing comfortable in his power—the stage is set for the moral failure that will define the next chapter. This is the anatomy of compromise and a cautionary tale for every leader.✈️ Overview:• David wins military victories across Israel’s borders, subjugating several enemy nations• He chooses subjugation (for wealth) over full obedience to God’s commands for annihilation• David shows covenant kindness (hesed) to Mephibosheth, Jonathan’s crippled son—restoring him to honor• Tensions with the Ammonites escalate after David’s envoys are publicly humiliated• War breaks out; David stays home while Joab leads the fight—setting up the tragic events of chapter 11🔎 Context Clues:• The text subtly contrasts David’s brutal treatment of foreign enemies with his kindness to Saul’s family• Subjugating enemies (vs. total destruction) builds Israel’s wealth—but at spiritual cost• Ancient Near Eastern kings often killed rivals; David’s mercy toward Mephibosheth was radical and risky• The Ammonites’ shaving of Israelite beards was a cultural humiliation—stripping symbols of manhood and leadership• Ancient wars paused in winter—chapter 10 explains why 2 Samuel 11 opens with “springtime, when kings go to war”🤓 Nerdy Nuggets:• The word for “glory” and “weight” (kabod) in Hebrew is the same—highlighting the heavy responsibility of leadership• David’s partial obedience reflects a slow drift toward secular kingship—a pattern warned against in Deuteronomy• The rise of Zadok’s priestly line is a delayed fulfillment of God’s judgment on Eli’s house• Mephibosheth’s repeated description as “crippled in both feet” underscores the culture’s view of political weakness• David’s decision to remain in Jerusalem during war (set up in chapter 10) is the hinge point for his greatest moral failure✅ Timeless Truths:• Success exposes character—comfort often reveals compromise• Partial obedience is still disobedience, even when it looks practical or profitable• True kindness is shown to those who can offer us nothing in return—and even those we might fear• Unchecked power, comfort, and entitlement lay the groundwork for future failure• Every leader must guard their heart—today’s decisions shape tomorrow’s headlinesDavid’s victories made him powerful. But that same power made him vulnerable. The tension is clear: while he shows loyalty and kindness on one hand, he begins to compromise on the other. Chapter 10 leaves us on a cliffhanger—not just in the war with Ammon, but in David’s heart. Because when kings grow comfortable, danger isn’t far behind. Tomorrow, we’ll see how quickly success can give way to sin.🚀 START HERE!Want to join us on the journey? Check out the Start Page! Day 158: 2 Samuel 4-7

Most churches today blur the line between praise and worship—but Scripture doesn’t. In today’s chapters, we see why worship without obedience is dangerous (literally), why praise is corporate not personal, and how David’s story reveals the tension between political ambition and pure devotion. As the Ark is mishandled and a permanent temple is proposed, this moment forces us to ask: are we moving God’s presence according to His ways—or our own?✈️ Overview:• David consolidates his reign and captures Jerusalem, uniting Israel under his leadership• The Ark of the Covenant is transported improperly, resulting in Uzzah’s death• David celebrates passionately but corrects course, restoring proper reverence for God’s holiness• David proposes building a permanent temple—God allows it, but redirects the promise to an eternal dynasty instead• 2 Samuel 7 contains the Davidic Covenant, one of Scripture’s most important Messianic promises🔎 Context Clues:• Raiding battlefields for items (like Saul’s crown) was normal practice in the ancient Near East• David’s growing list of wives signals political compromise and drift from Deuteronomy’s kingly ideal• Jerusalem’s geography (three valleys, two mountain ranges) made it both strategic and symbolic as Israel’s capital• The Ark was meant to be carried on priests’ shoulders—not transported on a cart like pagan war trophies• The term “house” in 2 Samuel 7 functions as a double meaning: temple vs. Davidic dynasty🤓 Nerdy Nuggets:• Praise requires community—worship can be personal, but praise is corporate and celebratory• In Hebrew, “glory” and “weight” are the same word; worship carries a weight that must be handled rightly• Uzzah’s death wasn’t about intention—it was about irreverence toward God’s holiness• Many scholars believe the temple was a political move more than a divine command; God permits it, but His covenant promise points to Jesus, not a building• The Ark’s temporary stay at Obed-Edom’s house reveals how blessing follows proper reverence✅ Timeless Truths:• Worship without obedience isn’t worship—it’s presumption• Praise and worship serve different purposes in the life of the believer and the church• Just because God allows something doesn’t mean He approves of it• Leaders must constantly evaluate their motives—even “holy” ambition can mask political aims• God’s kingdom is not built by human hands but by His sovereign promise—a throne established forever in ChristDavid was a man after God’s heart—but even he wasn’t immune to the pull of power and the temptation to “help” God. Today’s passage reminds us that spiritual leadership requires humility, obedience, and a right understanding of praise and worship. And as God’s promise to David shows, the ultimate glory doesn’t belong to a building or a king—but to the King of Kings Himself.🚀 START HERE!Want to join us on the journey? Check out the Start Page! Day 157: 2 Samuel 1-3

David didn’t celebrate when Saul died. He wept. He fasted. And then he executed the man who claimed credit—even though Saul had spent years trying to kill him. Why? Because David wasn’t led by convenience or emotion. He was led by integrity. In 2 Samuel 1–3, we see David’s first test as Israel’s king—not on a battlefield, but in a moment of mourning, justice, and leadership restraint. The text invites us to pay attention not just to David’s courage, but to his code. And it exposes the cost of misplaced trust, unchecked power, and the tension between character and compromise.✈️ Overview:• David learns of Saul and Jonathan’s deaths and mourns deeply• A deceitful Amalekite tries to gain political favor—and loses his life instead• David is anointed king over Judah while Saul’s family installs Ish-bosheth as puppet king• Civil war breaks out between the house of David and the house of Saul• David’s general Joab kills Abner in revenge—without David’s correction🔎 Context Clues:• Originally, 1 & 2 Samuel were one unified scroll—the break is artificial• David was in Ziklag (Philistine territory) when Saul died, creating a power vacuum• Abner (Saul’s military commander) installs Ish-bosheth as king, but only as a figurehead• Ish-bosheth’s original name was Ish-baal, later altered to avoid confusion with Baal worship• David is only king over Judah at this point, not all of Israel🤓 Nerdy Nuggets:• The Amalekite who claims to kill Saul contradicts the 1 Samuel narrative—revealing a likely lie for political gain• David’s refusal to “touch the Lord’s anointed” reflects deep reverence for divine authority• The poetic lament in 2 Samuel 1 forms a structural “middle song” in the Samuel scroll—bookended by Hannah’s song and David’s final psalm• Joab becomes a central figure in David’s reign—part warrior, part enforcer, part liability• Joab kills Abner for revenge, but David fails to bring justice—foreshadowing his future moral failures and inability to correct those closest to him✅ Timeless Truths:• Integrity means doing the right thing, even when it hurts—or when no one else would• Leadership isn’t just about winning battles—it’s about choosing honor when it’s hard• Unchecked power creates division, but principled restraint builds trust• Loyalty without accountability becomes toxic• People are layered, but God is not—our hope isn’t in perfect leaders, but in a perfect KingDavid had a heart for God, but that doesn’t mean he always made the right call. In this moment, we see the best of him—grieving an enemy, refusing to manipulate power, and honoring his values. But we also see the cracks: misplaced loyalty, inaction in the face of injustice, and a foreshadowing of the compromises to come. The lesson is clear: it’s not just about starting well. It’s about staying grounded. Because unchecked compromise—especially in those closest to you—can cost you everything.🚀 START HERE!Want to join us on the journey? Check out the Start Page!
