All right. Goal Diggers for this episode of #getLIT, we are going to talk about the Facebook live formula. My go to method to allow you, myself, my viewers, to be able to be taken along a journey of an amazing, effective, just impactful, value-driven Facebook live that keeps people on track. It gives them a call to action, make sure that they're engaging with your content and really giving you that concrete roadmap to be able to know exactly how it should roll, right? If you always say, I don't know, what's the format for it? And it took me some time to figure it out. So I'm going to share that with you today and I'm really, really excited. So when it comes to the Facebook live formula, there's a five step process that I like to follow and I'm gonna teach that to you right now.
Okay? First thing we're going to do, number one is the intro. Believe it or not, you need to repeat your name and the title of your topic. So too many times people are scrolling, scrolling in the newsfeed. They happen to see your posts. Maybe they're a new follower and they click the video and you don't say your name, and so they're watching the video. Or maybe they're even watching the video, right? And they forget like who is that girl? But if you can always get in the habit of reintroducing yourself, telling them your name, if you have a tagline or a brand name like mine is the Goal Digger Girl, mention that. And tell them what you're going to tell them you had, it's called a hook, but you want to grab them right away. If you just start talking and you don't really have a specific agenda, you're going to lose people.
They're going to pop off. It's a very competitive space. People's attention spans are very limited. So grabbing them right away is really, really important. Okay. So for number one, I want you to tell your name and tell them the topic you're going to talk about. Number two is give them some background. So say in today's live so excited to have you on. I always like to say something like, tell me where you're tuning in from. You know, kind of a little, just to get them commenting. But anyways, number two is tell them the background of the story. So why are you doing the training? So it could be, Oh, this person messaged me and was asking me for help. So I thought I would do a live today to tell you what I told her. Suddenly people are like, people are asking you for help.

Kimberly Olson: All right, everyone. Welcome back to another episode of the Goal Digger Girl podcast. I'm so excited for special guest, Kelly Roach. She's my coach and I love saying that because it's, it rhymes and it's fun and I am just beyond honored and grateful to get just a snippet of her time because she's one of the busiest people I've ever met in my entire life because she's crushing it. She's inspiring people every day and she's truly one of my biggest role models in the whole wide world. So Kelly, thank you for being on. I'm so excited.
Kelly Roach: Oh my gosh, I'm so happy to be here. It's my favorite thing ever to get to like connect with my clients outside of the program, in the real world. It's, it's awesome.
Kimberly Olson: Oh yeah, for sure. I feel like you're here at my house in the hot mess express zone,
Kelly Roach: Oh! Don't even worry, like the the hot mess just continues. It's like in and through everything. I walked downstairs last time and I was like, Oh my God. I looked at my living room and I said to my husband, I said, I'm so in the zone during the day. I don't see it. And then I opened my eyes and I'm like, so this is what's going on at my office all day.
Kimberly Olson: Right, exactly. I know it's, we are all in this together. At least we can all relate to each other. And at the time of this, of us recording this, we are all still in quarantine and everyone's home and we'll be releasing this in a couple of weeks. So hopefully things are starting to open up a little bit when we release this. But I want to get right into it because a lot of you've heard me talk about my coach and a lot of you've seen the success I've had this year and so I want you guys to know Kelly and I want you guys to know what she's doing for entrepreneurs globally. I mean you are just a force to be reckoned with. Why don't you bring listeners up to speed? Can you introduce yourself, talk a little bit about your background, your entrepreneurial journey, and then we can get into some of the amazing nuggets that we're going to share today.
Kelly Roach: Yeah, absolutely. So happy to be here with you guys and, you're in great hands. Obviously here with Kim. For me, I started my career in fortune 500 and I really, I charged my way up the ladder, right? So I was promoted seven times in eight years. I was managing 17 locations and a staff of a hundred by the time I was like 30 years old. And what I always say is that I lived a whole life before I started my business. And that journey really gave me context for what I wanted to build and create when I started my own company. Because I learned in fortune 500 world how to have really high level success really fast, make a lot of money, move up really quickly, all of those things. But I didn't have the freedom, the quality of life, right? I didn't have the abundance of time, which made the money meaningless.

Hello and welcome back to another episode of the Goal Digger Girl podcast where we talk about crushing your goals. And I'm so excited for this episode because I get this question all the time and I thought I need to do an episode and really dig into this and show people how to get started, but also how simple it is. So today we're going to talk about getting your personal brand started with three easy steps. But first a listener review. This comes from Debbie and she says, Kimberly, the Goal Digger Girl is totally, she's so real and authentic. She's very helpful. I am tired of being all over the place and not getting anything done. Can you all relate to that? That's definitely something I hear a lot. And one of my goals is to help simplify this whole world of social media and building our businesses online in a genuine and authentic way.
So Debbie, thank you so much for the review. I appreciate it. Now I want to give you a shout out, so please leave a review. I'm on iTunes, Spotify, iHeart radio, anywhere where you're listening, but I'm also on Facebook and Instagram. So specifically Instagram, it's easiest to tag me there. TheGoalDiggerGirl, G O A. L. Take a little snippet of you listening to this episode. So just take a screenshot on your phone, throw it in your stories and tag me and I will shout you out. So let's dive in. All right, so when it comes to getting your personal brand started in three simple steps, we're going to start off with branding yourself and not a thing. Okay? So what do I mean by that? Well, when it comes to branding yourself and not a thing, I want you to look at your social media right now and I want you to ask yourself, when people come to my Facebook page, my Instagram page, am I promoting the company I'm working with?
Or maybe you're doing affiliate marketing for a company or even a coaching program, right? Are you promoting a thing, a company, a product, a service, a brand of some sort or a, I mean a product of a package? Are you promoting a thing? If you are promoting a company, let's just use that as an example cause I think most of you are familiar with network marketing and how it works. You're obviously an independent contractor. You're a representative for that company. You don't own the company, you don't own the products, you're the middleman. Okay? So what I'll see is, and this is how I was when I first started, cause I had no idea. People will promote that thing. You'll see the website name, you'll see the website link, you'll see the company name, they're talking, I've even had people and you might be one of these people and you need to change it today where their Facebook or especially, I see this on Instagram a lot, is the name of their company.

Hi Goal Digger, welcome back for another episode of The Goal Digger Girl podcast. I'm so excited to have you on today. We're going to get dirty. We're going to get down and dirty with TikTok and Instagram, but first, a review and don't forget to put your own review. All you have to do is tag me on Instagram. Throw me in your stories and tag me at the Goaldiggergirl G. O. A.L. This week's listener review comes from Rochelle Pederson. She says, Kimberly inspires me to be a better version of myself. Her trainings are invaluable and once you are in one, you can access it for life. I've learned so much through her teachings and continue to grow my business through the motivating inspiration she gives. Well, thank you Rochelle. I consider you a dear friend and that's very, very sweet of you.
So let's get into it with the hottest thing on the social media scene being TikTok? I'm sure you're wondering, I'm sure you're thinking, I'm sure you've tried. Do I need to make TikTok an integral part of my social media strategy? The answer is yes and no. So if you currently have Facebook down, like you've got it down to a science, you're like, I've got this, I can do it in my sleep, you know, I'm dropping my kids off at the preschool line. Right. Not that you would do that, but you're in the carpool line and you're rolling in and you get your kids out and you could drop a post really fast like you've got it down. Then I would say for sure, for sure you are ready to be able to go on over to TikTok if you are not, you don't have it down, I should say Facebook or Instagram, you need one platform down tight, like it is flawless.
Okay. It's part of what you do every day. You don't have to force yourself to do it. It's just what you do. Okay. If that's the case, then yes, I would say let's had you on over to TikTok and check it out. You can find me at the Goaldiggergirl on TikTok, and I've had a lot of success on TikTok and that's not really what this is about. This is more deciding what's a better fit for you. What my personal opinion is of where we should spend our time. So if you've not gone on TikTok but you've got these other platforms, at least one platform down, it's time. It's time to give it a go. And I know there's some resistance around it. It seems silly. It's a bunch of 12 year olds. That is definitely not true. The moms ma'am, they're like taking over a TikTok.
It's freaking awesome. So if that's you and you're worried about having to dance or having to sing, that's not what it is. You do not have to do that. You can actually do a.. TikToks can be 15 to 60 seconds. You can just talk, you can just give a tip. So there's a girl I follow just to kind of see what some of the, some people are doing and she's with a, I think she must be with, I don't know which one, but some kind of skincare company and she's always doing funny TikToks, showing like different products she's using and they're, they're entertaining. I mean, they definitely catch your eye. So you don't have to necessarily dance or anything like that.

Welcome back to another episode of the Goal Digger girl. I'm so excited to talk to you about this topic because you know, mindset stuff isn't really a sexy one. You know, I always get way more attraction if I talk about recruiting or making money or building on social media. However, this one I'm going to teach you right now is so important for you to create the success that you want. Because even if you have awesome stories and you learn how to use that cool new app, you're not going to have the long term results that you desire. If you don't understand how mindset works and how creating that vision, casting that vision for yourself and being able to hold that in your mind's eye, it really is so important to understand this. So using mindset strategies to pivot in your life when you need to change can be something you use at any given moment.
Okay. Right now as I record this, we're in the middle of a global crisis. We don't know the ramifications to the extent just yet, but we know for sure it's not good. And so right now I'm getting a lot of messages of people that they're in fear, you know, they're afraid, they don't know like what's next. You know, spouses are losing jobs or failure, losing jobs or you know, we just got word that someone close- a girl that we were chatting with about the business, someone close to her, you know, passed away. And so there's real horrible things happening right now. But what I'm going to talk about can be applied at any time. This is just more of a heightened time and some of that low grade anxiety, low grade depression, low grade disease, uneasiness in your life.
Feeling like, why am I not having the results? I want my business. Why am I still at this job? Or why am I still not able to impact my family's bottom line in a meaningful way? And you know, I'm relying on my husband or whatever the situation is. So this is what I'm going to teach you can apply to any situation in your life at any time. Okay. I literally use this to create everything in my life, you know? And I look back just two years ago you guys, two years ago I launched the Goal Digger Girl and I didn't know anything about what that looked like. I didn't know what I was doing and I was still working at a job. I hated it. You know, I, we were just had finally gotten ourselves out of debt with my side hustle and us working, you know, through this really strict budget and I've been able to grow this business to having six figure months now, which is a little weird to say out loud, but I want to impress upon you that this stuff works.

Hey, Hey, Goal Diggers, so excited to be back. Today we are going to talk about why finding more friends, new friends is important for your business. I know you know it, but do you really know it and are you making it part of your daily practice? I'm going to give you the plan to do that today, but first a listener review from Kelly, she says so many helpful tips and motivational insights. I am so happy that I stumbled across this page. I was in need of some motivation and lifted spirits and viewing some of this content. Surely did the trick. Thank you. Goal Digger Girl. That is so sweet. I so appreciate you taking the time and for those of you that have messaged me in the past or do take the time to leave a review or tag me in a story you don't understand, it just keeps me going.
I mean, right now it's almost midnight and I'm recording this. After a long day of zooms in coaching and I, I did a private coaching for a team, a 90 minute deep dive before this. And so I've been doing a lot of talking and just having those kinds of things really make help me to realize that this is important work. So I really appreciate it. And if you're listening, please leave a review. It would just mean the world to me. And I am excited to talk to you about this because why finding more friends is important is because the more people you have in your net, the wider your audience, the wider your net, the more people that are going to be potentially see your stuff, you know, all it comes down to is how can we get more eyeballs on your stuff. So it's whether you get in front of more people or you learn how to get your content to be more engaging.
So the people who are seeing it, right? So we either have great content and get lots of people engaging or we have okay content and we have tons of people that are seeing it or you really get good and you do both really well. And that's really the secret sauce. So let's talk through this. The first thing is when it comes to finding new friends, I want you to understand the why behind it. So let's say right now you have a thousand friends on Facebook and you put a post up and you know you do a Facebook live and you get a hundred views on your Facebook live. That's 10% that's actually pretty good. Okay? Let's say I would say that's slightly below average, but still that's a hundred eyeballs on your stuff. Okay? Now if you can take that a thousand and get it, this is just hearsay, I haven't heard it from Facebook, but I've heard that the magic number is around 3,500 friends when the algorithm is like really optimized.

Kimberly Olson: Welcome back for another episode of The Goal Digger Girl. I'm so excited to introduce my special guest for you all listening today. I have Whitney Eckis on today and she is this amazing rock star online influencer, social media queen, and I'm going to pick her brain today to help you guys transition and get through this tumultuous time, but really come out winning on the other side. Plus I wanted to share her with my audience. So Whitney, welcome. And we're so excited to have you.
Whitney Eckis: Wow. Thank you so much for having me on. I'm so excited to chat with you guys.
Kimberly Olson: Yay. That's awesome. So my goal diggers, they are very loyal and they always love to know more about people that they're learning from, you know, just to feel like they're friends with those people. So can you open up a little bit and share with us your journey into getting into the entrepreneurial world and a little bit about yourself?
Whitney Eckis: Absolutely. So I've been in the market and marketing industry for about seven years now. I started way back when I was in college and I worked my way up through red bull and worked my way up through hospitality group where we were running about 15 different properties in the digital space. And then from there I decided that I wanted to go ahead and launch my own agency. So I kind of took working for someone then turning freelance, then turning into launching an agency. And that's kind of all been through my entrepreneur journey.
Kimberly Olson: Wow. Okay. So you just took the bull by the horns. I freaking love that. It's like my love language. So a lot of my audience, they're network marketers, but they also are very, very interested in multiple streams of income. So can you share with them, you know what that was like for you to take that leap of faith? Because some of them, even within network marketing are not taking the leap of faith. They're afraid. They're scared. You know how there's like upper limits that you have to push through. And, and they need to break that glass ceiling. How did you do that? Like how did you just go for it and launch your own thing? That's so cool.
Whitney Eckis: Yeah, I think that, you know, at one point I kind of didn't really know. You know, I didn't really know essentially like what it was going to turn into. I knew that I wanted to do kind of my own thing and I had a couple of different factors playing into it. One of which that my dad was actually, he was kind of sick at the time and I remember him asking kind of like just needing a little bit of help and needing me around a little bit more. And I was kind of coming to this end of my journey with this hospitality group and I just, I just really had kind of my heart set on, on an agency and really had my heart set on, you know, creating and marketing space, you know, and one in which that I had all my own clients and I had my own look and I was able to do all my own different types of marketing ideas that I wasn't able to implement in this hospitality group. So I kind of just decided to take the leap of faith. And that started out as freelancing, right? Started out with no hires with me.

Hey there and welcome back to another episode of The Goal Digger podcast. I am so excited to chat with you. I'm in my home office, my own little recording studio, and it's been fun to do interviews and do some stuff on the fly, but right now at the time of this recording we are homebound. We just got news that our school will be out until at least May 4th I'm guessing my gut is probably going to be until the end of the year, so this might be my new norm of having my children home all the time, which is so funny. Careful what you wish for because I always said I'm just not a stay at home mom. I'm just not cut out to be home with kids. Surprise. I'm now a stay at home mom with a huge side hustle. So to help you crush your side hustle today we're going to talk about why your profile picture has become your logo, why it's important to understand this concept and how it can help you grow your personal brand and your business and totally crush it on social media.
But first a listener review comes from Abby. She says, I've been following Kimberly Olson since April 22nd to be exact, I have to tell you, my life has been, has not been the same since that day. My ambition has changed, my goals are clear and my mind is completely triggered with so many ideas. Thanks to Kimberly. Well thank you Abby. I have gotten to know you very well and I absolutely adore you and you are just such a talented, talented woman, inspiring a lot of women and it's really cool to see. So thank you so much for those listening. Make sure you leave a review and subscribe to this podcast so you never miss an episode. We release new episodes every week. If you throw me in your stories and tag me, I will shout you out in mine. All right, so why do I believe that a profile picture has become the new logo?
This is the thing when it comes to branding, just like a lot of people, what I did is I thought, you know, if I had a website sign up with a network marketing company, I had a website, maybe linked it to my blog, I would get orders, I'll get people joining and it doesn't work that way. And a lot of times people will think, you know, if I have a Facebook business page and I post my products on there, people will find it and they'll order. It also doesn't work that way. Facebook is pay to play. Facebook wants it to be where you're spending money on ads to get your content in front of people. So you want to get away from thinking you have to hide behind a brand or your company. What you want to start thinking is, I have to connect with my potential audience.
I've got to build relationships with my followers so I can build up that know, like and trust factor. And when you do that, you will start to learn how to engage your audience. You're going to start to learn what those pain points are. You're going to start to learn how to build up the know, like, and trust factor. So what I want you to do is I want you to do, "What Would Kimberly Do? Some of my Six Figure Breakthrough students affectionately say, they'll send me messages and screenshots of like conversations with prospects and they'll send it to me and say, "and I thought to myself, W W K D" so it's like an ongoing joke that we have.

Kimberly Olson: Welcome everyone to The Goal Digger Girl's podcast where we talk about crushing your goals and creating the life of your dreams. For this episode, I have special guests, Hailey Rowe coming in from Health Coach Nation. As you guys know, I'm a lover of all things health and wellness and business combined. So I'm super excited to have her on. Welcome Hailey.
Hailey Rowe: Thank you. I'm so excited to be here.
Kimberly Olson: Yes, it's going to be awesome. We're, it'll be two nerds just geeking out and you guys can come along for the ride. So I would love a lot of my listeners maybe new to you, so I would love for them to get to know you a little bit better. So do you mind sharing about you, your background, how you got into the entrepreneurial world and just are crushing it on social media and with your business. But can you share a little bit about yourself?
Hailey Rowe: Yeah, of course. So, first off, I am a marketing and sales strategist and coach for wellness professionals and coaches. And what I work with them on is getting more traffic, booking more clients, and closing more so with their sales. And I love working with this type of audience because I find that they're really good at what they do, but they tend to not get the support in their certification programs or with their, whichever company they're representing or whatever to really help them grow a business and book clients online. So that's where I come in and I got into all of this because when I first started in the coaching industry 10 years ago in 2010, I was really into wellness and I got all my wellness certifications and I was super excited and I started selling fitness programs as well.
Hailey Rowe: And we, you know, did the whole direct marketing network marketing thing and also coached and was just doing all of it. And, I realized that the certification programs weren't really teaching me how to grow my business and I was frustrated. And so I ended up becoming really fascinated with marketing and learning about business. And so I went to school for entrepreneurship and started after college. After that working at some wellness startups. So I started when I was really young and I had to have a legal guardian, like sign my papers for what I did, my first, what I needed in selling fitness programs. It was pretty funny. But anyways, I started working for wellness startups, after school and was in business development in marketing because I didn't feel personally ready to go all in on my own business at that time.

Kimberly Olson: Welcome everyone, The Goal Digger Girl's podcast. I'm really all set and I'm so excited to share a special guest with you today, Kelly Anne Gorman, in the house. And we are going to dive in all things entrepreneurialship and aside of being a workaholic, as you guys know, I love working and I found someone else. Well so we're already kindred spirits but Kelly Anne thank you for being on.
Kelly Anne Gorman: Thank you so much for having me. And so I did talk to you finally.
Kimberly Olson: I know absolutely. I'm excited as well. So I love everything that you're doing on social media through your podcast and I love the message that you are sending out to other working women and I want to find out, I want you to take everyone back, like how did you become an entrepreneur? Take us through just your career. Um, and what, what, how did we get to where we are today? For some who've never heard of you. I'm just glad to say, that's the power of podcasting. So I'd love for them to get to know you a little bit better so if you could share your story.
Kelly Anne Gorman: Sure. So I'm going to give you the really long story. I feel like being an entrepreneur, it's always been in my blood. My family opened a bagel shop after my dad left the radio business and that's where my working experience began at I think it was 14 sweeping bagel seeds. So from then I was always working in restaurants, but immediately I always became management and I just always had that like extra fire. Like I wanted to do more and I was in art school half of my life so I always wanted to do something on the creative side. I'm always creating something. Now I do it with programs, but it's so crazy how life happens. Right? So I was actually a pro makeup artist for 16 years and doing and creating my own schedule and traveling the world. I actually actually worked on over 60 cruise ships and yachts doing an insane amount of makeup, same amount of job, not the same norm, but again, these are positions that I created for myself. When it came to the cruise ship industry, I went on as a guest. I had to clear customs as a guest. I was not an employee. I actually worked so long home and when I had that job I wanted to, I was doing makeup professionally in Boston. I'm originally from Rhode Island. I wanted to create a job where I could be traveling and doing makeups. So I pitched every single cruise line via fax by the way.
