Luke Kempner is currently staring in Les Misérables in the West End playing Monsieur Thenardier but Luke is also well known for being a comedian and impressionist at the top of his game. Last year saw Luke voice over 30 puppets in the West End production of Spitting Image: Idiots Assemble, including King Charles, Prince Harry, Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran, Jurgen Klopp and many more. His TV credits include Spitting Image, Steph’s Packed Lunch, The Last Leg, Love Island: Aftersun, The Stand Up Sketch Show and CelebAbility. As well as this, Luke created and starred in his own review show for ITV 2, entitled Luke Kempner’s Impression of 2015 and was the resident comedian on Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On The Side for 9 series. Richard Talman is a Master Goldsmith and the resident goldsmith on The Repair Shop, the award winning show on BBC One. Richard’s jewellery business, RTFJ, was founded in 2010 and has customers from around the world. It was awarded the National Winner of The Wedding Industry Awards. Liam Withnail is an award winning comedian. He co-hosts the popular podcast Enjoy an Album, which was nominated for Best Podcast at the Chortle Awards 2024. Tom Shakespeare CBE is Professor of Disability Research at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and was the 2020 Swarthmore Lecturer. Tom has achondroplasia and uses a wheelchair. He is a social scientist and bioethicist who has worked particularly on disability and on genetics. His books include Disability Rights and Wrongs, Genetic Politics, and Disability – the Basics. Tom has presented programmes and documentaries on BBC Radio and has written for publications including The Guardian and The Lancet, alongside talking to academic, professional and lay audiences around the world. In July 2018 Shakespeare was elected a Fellow of the British Academy. He has been a stand-up comedian, an actor, a dancer, and an artist. Professor Sophie Scott is a neuroscientist and the Director of the Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience. Her research investigates the cognitive neuroscience of voices, speech and laughter, particularly speech perception, production, vocal emotions and human communication Sophie started her research career in Cambridge at the Medical Research Council (MRC) Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit She was awarded a Wellcome Trust Fellowship in 2001 and has been funded by them since. As of 2017 she holds a Wellcome Trust Senior Fellowship. She is a member of the British Psychological Society, the Society for Neuroscience, the Cognitive Neuroscience Society, and the Experimental Psychology Society. She’s a Fellow of the British Academy. Sophie is known for her public engagement work, including performing standup comedy. She’s been a panel guest several times on BBC Radio 4 programme The Infinite Monkey Cage and appeared on the BBC TV series Horizon, The Science of Laughter with Jimmy Carr. Sophie presented the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures in 2017 entitled The Language of Life which explored the topic of communication. She’s published several books including, The Brain: 10 Things You Should Know. Jon Holmes is a comedian, writer, presenter, producer and broadcaster who has won two BAFTAs, nine Gold Sony Radio Awards and two British Comedy Awards. He’s presented major radio shows on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC 6Music, Virgin Radio, XFM, Takradio, LBC and Radio X. On Radio 4, he co-created Dead Ringers, he wrote and appearing in The Now Show and The 99p Challenge where he first worked with Armando Iannucci. He also worked with Armando on Gash on Channel 4 and Time Trumpet on BBC2 and in 2006 he received his sixth Sony Award for his work on Armando Iannucci's Charm Offensive on Radio 4. Lewis MacLeod is a Scottish actor best known for voicing characters and his impressions. He was in Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace as the voice of Sebulba (the podracer who competes against young Anakin Skywalker), he is currently the voice of Postman Pat and he regularly appeared on BBC Radio 2's Steve Wright in the Afternoon voicing impressions of Jeremy Vine, Donald Trump and Paul McCartney. He does various impressions in Dead Ringers on BBC Radio 4 and Spitting Image. Jess Conrad has been ‘the vainest man in showbiz’ self styled since the 1950’s, having been a pop star, a film star, a star of the West End, a TV star and a cabaret star. Jess fell into film extra work, then acting work, being discovered by Jack Goode and having a number of hits in the early sixties, including one voted the sixth worst song of all time.
