He said he inadvertently took them to treat ringworm. Sure. How bad is this for the Padres? Tatis has not played this entire season after breaking his wrist in a motorcycle accident. Today’s word of the day is ‘egregious’ as in terrible behavior as in Roger Goodell has come out and said the NFL appealed the decision of Deshaun Watson’s suspension because of the belief that Watson’s actions were as bad as it gets. Goodell and the NFL are back to pushing for a full year suspension. Who decides these suspensions now? Oh, that’s right… the NFL! (9:30) Chris Sale is out for the year again. He broke his wrist in a bike accident. Chris Sale signed a $145M extension and has pitched 48 innings in the past 3 years. Wonderful. Why would Roger Goodell even use an outside arbitrator if it even ends up back on Roger Goodell’s lap? The NFL has appealed the decision and now Watson could be suspended for however long the NFL wants him to be. (12:35) Brittney Griner was sentenced to 9 and a half years in a Russian court yesterday. Let’s talk about this case. The U.S. government has been involved and it seems like nothing is being done. It’s the MLB trade deadline! Let’s go! The Washington Nationals actually traded Juan Soto! I cannot believe it! The San Diego Padres will send most of their top prospects in what could be the biggest deal ever. (22:50) What happened with Eric Hosmer? He would not waive his no-trade clause. Instead of being sent to the Nationals, he was dealt to the Red Sox. (32:55) The Yankees made some big moves at the trade deadline. Frankie Montas from the A’s, Lou Trivino from the A’s, Scott Effross from the Cubs, Andrew Benintendi and Harrison Bader. Maybe the biggest move was moving Joey Gallo to the Dodgers.
