Ideas Have Consequences
Disciple Nations Alliance
Everything that we see around us is the product of ideas, of ideologies, of worldviews. That's where everything starts. Worldviews are not all the same, and the differences matter a lot. How do you judge a tree? By its fruits. How do you judge a worldview? By its physical, tangible, observable fruit. The things it produces. Ideas that are noble and true produce beauty, abundance, and human flourishing. Poisonous ideas produce ugliness. They destroy and dehumanize. It really is that simple. Welcome to Ideas Have Consequences, the podcast of Disciple Nations Alliance, where we prepare followers of Christ to better understand the true ideas that lead to human flourishing while fighting against poisonous ideas that destroy nations. Join us, and prepare your minds for action!

One Pastor's Story: Overcoming Challenges Inside and Outside the Church with Blaine Braden
In a day and age when our churches are undergoing increasing pressure from culture to sit down and be quiet, how do pastors balance clear biblical preaching while also connecting its principles to our current cultural climate? We have all seen pastors who lean too heavily on engaging in the culture at the expense of the Scripture, or those who purely preach the Word without ever connecting it to the congregation's lives. This week we had a great time with Pastor Blaine Braden from Eastmont Church in Oregon, discussing how to stay grounded and relevant as the church in a post-Christian culture.Episode Landing PageDisciple Nations Alliance Website

Imagine working tirelessly year after year to bring development to a community that vacillates between feast and famine, where some people struggle with chronic malnourishment. Still, no amount of money, planning, or technology ever seems to help the community change. Even after working with people for decades, they still have yet to embrace better crop selection and storage methods, and the middleman seems to take whatever profit could exist… until you begin to see reality from an entirely different perspective. Once you share it with these communities, change begins to happen rapidly. Learn about this change firsthand from Tim Andrews as he shares his 30 years of experience working in the African relief and development world.Check out: This Episode's Landing PageWebsite: Disciple Nations Alliance

When Truth is Unpopular, is There a Third Way?
We live in a time of deep cultural division. It is political: progressive vs. conservative. It is economic: socialism vs. capitalism. It runs through fundamental issues like abortion: pro-choice vs. pro-life. It runs through demographically, class, and education: Urban, highly educated elites vs. rural, blue-collar “deplorables.” Ultimately, it is rooted in deep worldview beliefs: Objective truth vs. man-created “truth,” spin, and narrative creation. Creation vs. naturalistic evolution. Judeo-Christian theism vs. “woke” cultural Marxism. This divide is challenging and uncomfortable for many Christians, who want to be viewed as peacemakers and not angry culture warriors. Increasingly, they speak in terms of “not this, or that” but “a third way.” Today, we explore the growing trend of “third-wayism.” Is it helpful, or does it lead us astray?Check out: This Episode's Landing PageWebsite: Disciple Nations Alliance

The Population Collapse & the Ideas Driving It
Ideas can build up and create or tear down and dehumanize individuals and nations. Truth leads to flourishing, while lies lead to bondage and, ultimately, death. Today we look at the trend of rapidly declining fertility rates in places like China, South Korea, Russia, Europe, and North America. What are the consequences of this decline personally, economically, and culturally? What ideas are behind it and driving it? How do these ideas differ from the biblical worldview, where God's first command to mankind is “be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth.” What are the lies that you and I have unintentionally absorbed that run counter to God's first command and are holding us back from living the kind of life he desires for us?Episode Landing PageWebsite: Disciple Nations Alliance

Biblical Prosperity without the Heresy
Prosperity and flourishing are part of God's beautiful plan for His people, and his desire for nations. But trials, tribulations, and persecutions are also a reality in our fallen world. In today's discussion, the team dives into what the Bible teaches about prosperity and flourishing—concepts many avoid for fear of being associated with the heretical “prosperity gospel.” We point out the critical lies of the prosperity gospel and contrast it with the flourishing God wants for all of us. Does God want us to be materially prosperous? When does a good thing cross over into idolatry? How can we avoid overreacting against prosperity by emphasizing austerity? Join us as we unpack all this and more in today's episode of Ideas Have Consequences.Episode Landing PageWebsite: Disciple Nations Alliance
