SPOS #652 - Big Innovation With Tendayi Viki

Welcome to episode #652 of Six Pixels of Separation. Here it is: Six Pixels of Separation - Episode #652 - Host: Mitch Joel. Innovation is a big word. It's a tough word and many businesses claim to be doing it... but few can demonstrate it (well). I was fortunate to be introduced to Tendayi Viki via the good people at Thinkers50 (where Tendayi is writing a crowd-sourced book in partnership with them). Tendayi is an author and innovation consultant. He holds a PhD in Psychology and an MBA. He helps large organizations develop their ecosystems, so that they can innovate for the future while managing their core business. Through his company Benneli Jacobs, he has given keynotes, run workshops and worked as a consultant for several large organizations including American Express, Unilever, Airbus and many more. Tendayi has been shortlisted for the Thinkers50 Innovation Award and was named on the Thinkers50 2018 Radar List for emerging management thinkers to watch. He has written two books: The Corporate Startup and The Lean Product Lifecycle. The Corporate Startup was awarded the 2018 CMI Management Book Of The Year In Innovation and Entrepreneurship. SPOS #651 - Predictive Analytics With Katie Robbert

Welcome to episode #651 of Six Pixels of Separation. Here it is: Six Pixels of Separation - Episode #651 - Host: Mitch Joel. Two of my close friends from the marketing world are Christopher S. Penn and John Wall. Some know them as the dynamic duo that host the Marketing Over Coffee Podcast (and it's a glorious one). We've been friends for close to 15 years (from the early days of podcasting at the first-ever PodCamp). What some may not know, is that the two of them plus Katie Robbert have a great company called, Trust Insights. The company's big goal is to help brands light up their dark data. They live to build both predictive insights and push analytics to create better outcomes. Katie and I met at HubSpot's massive Inbound conference this past year, where she presented on the topic of predictive analytics. This is the kind of rich brand goodness that is no longer relegated to big companies with massive budgets. Enjoy the conversation... Running time: 53:49. Hello from beautiful Montreal. SPOS #650 - Winning Communications With Nick Morgan

Welcome to episode #650 of Six Pixels of Separation. Here it is: Six Pixels of Separation - Episode #650 - Host: Mitch Joel. When I got my first opportunity to speak in front of a large audience, I wasn't sure where to turn for more professional public speaking and presentation skills training. Many names of individuals and organizations were thrown my way, but one name that kept rising to the top was Nick Morgan. I immediately purchased his book, Give Your Speech, Change The World, and it did - in fact - change my world and perception of what a presentation is really all about. Then came Working The Room followed by Trust Me and then Power Cues. I eagerly bought and devoured them all. Thankfully, Nick jumped into social media and started blogging over at Public Words. Now, Nick is back with a new book, Can You Hear Me? - How To Connect With People In A Virtual World. According to Nick: "We're immersed in the digital world; in fact, we couldn't live without our mobile phones, computers, and social apps that allow us to work and play in ways unimaginable even two decades ago. But the blurring of the virtual and the real has a hidden cost that we pay every day. The technology strips ordinary human emotional understanding out of our communications, and we are the poorer for it." Take a listen to better understand how we can fix it. Enjoy the conversation... SPOS #644 - Thinking Bigger With Stuart Crainer

Welcome to episode #644 of Six Pixels of Separation. I'm a big fan of the Thinkers50. It's a list of smart people who are (and have) made a significant difference in how we think about business and the work that we do today. Many of the past guests on Six Pixels of Separation are on the list. Dan Pontefract was kind enough to introduce me to one of the Thinkers50 co-founders, Stuart Crainer. Stuart is the former editor of London Business School's award-winning magazine Business Strategy Review. His book credits include The Management Century and a biography of the management guru Tom Peters (Tom is a personal favourite "thinker" of mine!). He has taught in the International MBA at IE Business School and in executive education programs around the world, including the Strategic Leadership programme at Oxford University. Stuart is a Visiting Professor at Warwick Business School. He is also the author of Atlantic Crossing, based on his experiences sailing the Atlantic. So, who are some of the best thinkers of the day? What are they working on? What are some of the bigger trends in business today? Enjoy the conversation... Running time: 1:01:39. Hello from beautiful Montreal. Subscribe over at iTunes.
