Ep 309: Mere Spirituality: Returning to the Heart of Christian Faith with Joshua Spatha
What does it mean to pursue true spirituality in a culture filled with self-help messages and shallow substitutes? In this episode, Shanda sits down with Joshua Spatha, author of Mere Spirituality, to talk about what it looks like to return to the essence of authentic faith. They discuss the biggest misconceptions Christians have about spirituality, how Scripture defines spiritual depth, and why simplicity doesn’t have to mean shallowness. Joshua also shares which spiritual disciplines are most neglected today, how the church can move past performance-driven environments, and what encouragement we can hold on to when our faith feels like just going through the motions. If you’ve ever longed for a faith that’s real, grounded, and centered on Christ, this conversation will help you rediscover the beauty of mere spirituality. Ep 308: Beyond the Microphone: What Charlie Kirk Did & What We Should Be Doing at the Dining Table
Why did Charlie Kirk resonate so deeply with young people, and what does that reveal about what’s missing in our homes today? In this episode, Shanda sits down with her husband, Dean Fulbright, to talk about the truths every young person should first hear around the dining room table—truths like God exists. They discuss why belief in God shapes a young man’s identity, responsibility, and courage, and how fathers and mentors can prepare the next generation to stand firm in a culture that denies Him. Ep 306: Charlie Kirk, Christian Grit, and Where We Go From Here
In this episode, I reflect on the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk and what his example means for us as Christians moving forward. Charlie was a man of discipline, conviction, and grit—a reminder that Christianity is not for the faint of heart. We are called to run the race with endurance, to stand firm in the truth, and to live with courage even when it costs us. I’ll walk through what it means to have GRIT as followers of Christ—Grounded in God’s Word, Resilient in trials, Intentional in faith, and Tenacious for the truth. This is not about applause or comfort but about finishing the race well, as Paul says in 1 Corinthians 9. As we grieve, we don’t grieve as those without hope. We remember that our God is unchanging, sovereign, and victorious over death itself. The best way to honor Charlie’s legacy is to live with the same grit and conviction, keeping our eyes fixed on Christ, the author and finisher of our faith. Ep 305: The Four Faces of Christ with George Shamblin
In this episode, Shanda sits down with George Shamblin, author of The Four Faces of Christ, for a fascinating look at the gospels and the unique portraits of Jesus revealed by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Each gospel writer highlights a different facet of Christ—together giving us a fuller, richer understanding of who He is. Shanda and George unpack why the gospels complement rather than contradict one another, how their distinct emphases point us to the same Savior, and why seeing Christ through these four “faces” deepens our worship and strengthens our faith. If you’ve ever wondered why we need four gospels, what each writer reveals about Jesus, and how these perspectives shape our view of Him today, you won’t want to miss this conversation. Ep 304: Does God show His will for my life through dreams, feelings, or signs?
Every Christian wrestles with this question: What is God’s will for my life? Is it hidden in dreams, feelings, or signs—or is it revealed plainly in His Word? In this episode, Shanda breaks down what the Bible means when it talks about God’s will, how we can discern it for our own lives, and where experiences like dreams, words from others, and gut feelings fit into the conversation. If you’ve ever wondered how to recognize God’s voice above the noise, this episode will equip you with clarity and confidence to walk in His will.
