Zach Mabry | College Retreat 2022 | Sunday MorningWith everything that is happening in the world today, it can feel like we have no where to put our hope.  The answer to this is Christ - the one who took on the cross for us, defeated death, and rose Himself from the grave.  So why do we still doubt and question what He can do?  We live with doubt and fear everyday.  However, when we are tempted, we need to remember we have Christ within us.  We are sealed by His Holy Spirit.  Hardships, temptations, and trials will come, but we can rest in the hope that Christ is the light at the end of the tunnel.Learn more about our student and adult conferences at Swoutfitters.com. P.S. We need to take action everyday in our faith that brings pleasure to the Lord, holding fast to His Word. Noah, by faith and trust in the Lord, acted in obedience. Rob Conti | College Retreat 2022 | Saturday MorningWe need to listen to the warnings in scripture about having a heart of unbelief. During the Exodus of Egypt, the Israelites had faith to leave. However, when things became hard, they wanted to go back to the place they were enslaved. We need to guard against sinful pleasures that make us turn our backs on the eternal rest promised to those who hold fast till the end. We get the strength to hold on until the end through Jesus. He is the source of our faith, enabling us to be faithful in times of trial. Look to Jesus day in and day out. Sometimes we have a false idea of what a true disciple of the Lord should look like. Jesus makes it clear that discipleship is about submitting to him—not personal gain for us. To be a faithful disciple of the Lord, we have to die to ourselves daily. It’s not always about comfort and peace, but sacrifice.
