SWO22 | Brody Holloway  | Friday Night God is not confined to a special place. He doesn’t dwell in a house, but in the hearts of His people. The Lord was with David every step of the way. And, the Lord is with you — even in difficult times. He puts His Spirit in you. There would never be another true king that would sit on the throne after David. Jesus is the one who would fulfill the promise of David. Christ sits on a throne in Heaven that will never end. SWO22 | Rob Conti | Friday MorningIn 1 Samuel 24, we see more of David’s path to the throne. David had a chance to kill Saul. But instead, he spared his life. David doesn’t kill Saul because he is the Lord’s anointed. Our desires and circumstances aren’t good guides to the will of God. But, David’s time in the wilderness was shaping him into the leader God was calling him to be. God’s goodness doesn’t mean you will be comfortable at all times. SWO22 | Rob Conti | Wednesday MorningHow do we fight for joy? The reality of people experiencing depression right now is only rising. We will all experience seasons of sorrow. In Psalm 13, we see David crying out to the Lord in his grief. Let’s look at what we can learn from David and how he handles these moments. Jesus identifies with us in our suffering. Your suffering has eternal purpose. Joy is not bound by circumstances, it springs from the presence of the Lord. Let’s allow Scripture to change our perspectives and focus our eyes on the Lord in the midst of suffering.
