The windshield wiper red herring (a potentially devastating distraction) | PLUS rec vs competitive play | Pickleball Therapy with VIPickleball | Episode 54

Red herrings can distract us on our pickleball improvement paths. They take away time and focus from the areas that we need to work on. This particular red herring, however, can actually undermine your game by adding unnecessary errors. Is the windshield wiper stroke undermining your game? Rec play is awesome. Socialize, relax, play some ball. But if you want to improve you need to consider adding some competitive play to your weekly schedule. Stay tuned to the riff to hear more on this. Take Advantage of Opportunities | PLUS how will rally scoring impact your game | Pickleball Therapy with VIPickleball | Episode 53

Pickleball is a game of error reduction. True. But to improve you also have to learn how to take advantage of opportunities that arise. In this episode we explain what we mean and get you to think about the game a bit differently (at least that is the objective). Rally scoring is coming to pickleball. At least that is what the tea leaves are saying. Am I excited about rally scoring coming into the game? No. But will it prevent me from playing? Also no. Stay tuned to the riff to hear more on this. Are you working on the Second Pillar (what is the Second Pillar anyways??) | PLUS Ready Position is more than the paddle | Pickleball Therapy with VIPickleball | Episode 46

To play your best pickleball you need to "see" the game. This is where the Second Pillar comes in. It is not just how to hit the ball. It is what shot to hit when. The when and the why if you will. If you do not have this understanding of the game, that you can apply in real time, then what will your results on the court look like? Your paddle is our in front. But are you ready? Maybe - maybe not. Click here to learn more about the Second Pillar. Click here for our Respect the X video. If you missed it, you can find out more about THE Pickleball Summit by clicking here.
