For episode 138, we welcomed Matthew Murphy to the show! Matthew Murphy was a Green Beret in the US Army, Special Forces Sniper, Special Operations Terminal Attack Controller, Communications Specialist, Foreign Weapons Expert, Unconventional Warfare Expert, and speaks Arabic in the Levantine and Modern Standard dialects. He is a veteran of wars in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan and has lived and worked all over Europe and the Middle East since the age of 23.Matthew is also the Founder and President of Operation Light Shine, a non-profit charity headquartered in Nashville, TN, whose mission is to combat human trafficking and child exploitation. He is a native of Memphis, TN and current resident of Nashville, TN. He has two daughters who inspire him to live a life of service to his country and community. Matthew’s family has been affected by Human Trafficking with the loss of his sister Sarah. In November 2019, Sarah was murdered by people involved in an organization that sex traffics and deals drugs. Missing for almost two months, her body was discovered in a river by hunters on Christmas Eve 2019. Brock Bevell is a retired Police Officer who was run over on duty and ultimately retired from the injuries. As a coping mechanism, to deal with the pain, he was prescribed opioids which sent him into a downward spiral. Brock did prevail in his battle with addiction. He is the co-founder of Victory Recovery (AZ) which provides addiction and mental health services and is currently at the forefront of bringing awareness to the current fentanyl crisis in America. John Nores Jr. has served as a game warden with the California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW). There he co-developed the Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) and Delta Team, the CDFW's first comprehensive wilderness spec ops tactical and sniper unit, aimed at combatting the marijuana cartel's decimation of California's wildlife resources. Lt. Nores and his team have been featured on the National Geographic channel's television series, "Wild Justice."
