Although Brad may not admit to having this nailed down, he is being himself as he raises his kids.  Many fathers struggle with their identity when they are fathers.  Brad has made it his craft to take his love for life and adventure and pass this to his kids through their daily adventures.  Many men go on vacation or go be with their friends to be themselves.  Brad sees his opportunity to be himself with his kids.  That is who his kids need!
