Learning lessons by reflecting on your board practice with Lauren Harrell

Insights from the Take on Board Breakfast: Research on board composition and decision making with Jo Smith
Today on Take on Board, Helga shares her conversation with Jo Smith. This chat was part of the November Take on Board Breakfast event. Jo Smith joined Helga to talk about her research report, New Zealand Boards and Frontier Firms. She shares some lessons from the research around board composition and strategic decision making.Jo is an economist by training. She specialises in Applied Research and Analysis, particularly qualitative and mixed method studies. She spent much of her career as a consultant, first at the New Zealand Institute of Economic Research. And then with Sapir, a research group.She has considerable experience in program evaluation for clients in the government, private and community based sectors and across the Pacific. Jo is now a principal advisor at the New Zealand Productivity Commission, where she works on major inquiries into productivity related issues.There were several questions from women who are board aspirants.
