How we went from thinking we'd have 40 kids and family members singing together around the rug at the library to accidentally flooding the library with over 200 people, how the concert exploded to over 800 kids and family members by the following year, and how we foster a sense of collaboration over competition in our partnership together. We believe that we only make each other stronger as we build up and show off each others' strengths, and this concert has become a powerful way to showcase those strengths. All of that changed when Lauren Shelton began her work in the district. In just 5 years, she has brought more than 90 full time VAPA (Visual And Performing Arts) to serve the children in CVESD. In this episode, you will learn what led to the decision by CVESD to hire VAPA teachers.
