Set a Budget: Budgets help us to reduce chances of over-spending.
Create a Runway Sheet: Summarise how much you'd be spending over 6 month or on the total subscription.
Pausing Holidays: Save money by puasing on holidays or periods of time you are not using the tool
Research into the Company: Do your homework on what the company's values are. Doist do this well, and so do Buffer.
