The Editor In Chief of Inc. com Shares Trends Of The Future and Tips For Business Success | Scott Omelianuk | Replay
In this episode of the Millionaire Mindcast, we have an amazing guest Scott Omelianuk who shares insights and wisdom about content consumption habits, amazing business stories that impacted the community during this crisis, and tips on how to adapt and thrive in this current landscape! Scott Omelianuk is an entrepreneur, entrepreneurship and marketing lecturer, media and brand builder, consumer connector, brand Lead of the premiere voice of America's entrepreneurs, owners and business builders via Inc.com, Inc. Magazine (Editor-in-Chief), the Inc 5000, the Inc., and more. His responsibilities include developing new lines of business to serve the entrepreneurial community and overseeing the events and content that makeup the Inc. ecosystem. He achieves remarkable honors as named to the Ad Age A-list, received Ad Age’s Media Vanguard award for implementing the first user generated content in national media, and for pioneering QR codes, digital video, AR, content marketing, and building a juggernaut lead generation business. Also, brokered corporate partnerships, now worth billions. Just like what most of the businesses do during this world crisis, Scott’s team also did remote work. They’ve struggled at first as doing events is a big part of their business. But they embraced the situation and figured out how to produce products remotely, and makeup revenue. This challenging year left Scott optimistic. Despite all the conflict, he is still quite positive about human nature in general. He suggests that businesses should be innovating to not be left behind and never be obsolete. Therefore, business owners should change their business over time, and adapt to the new trend just like what the Inc. company did that primarily supports entrepreneurship. Relative to this, make time to tease apart your revenue to make sure you’re always planning for the future so that you don’t end up in the swamp. Listening to, and intuitive understanding of your customers, clients, consumers, and the community is key. Also, engaging with them empathetically is an important thing. For Scott, it’s not just about making money, it’s about carving time out to have a relationship with your time, carving time out for yourself. Most importantly, make sure you don’t sacrifice your family for your business to avoid regrets in the end! Some Questions I Ask: Give us a recap of what did you guys see that shocked you in 2020, and how it impacted Inc in general or everybody in your ecosystem, and how did you guys pivot in the storm? (01:03) What’s your outlook on some of those businesses that are dying away because they didn’t adapt to the current landscape? (03:28) What are some of the things that you’re excited about or paying attention to that you guys are excited to be covering and trying to get out to the masses through your platform? (06:47) When you guys are looking to add value to your viewers and your readers, how do you guys go about curating content? (11:24) How can someone audit how relevant or obsolete they are becoming, and how somebody can learn from your guy's journey in terms of maybe their own business journey to continue to innovate and grow to achieve the goal and serve? (14:13) What are some of the trends or maybe skill sets or ideologies that you think the savvy and sharp business owners are adapting to those storms to survive? (19:17) What are some of the things that you think business owners should be aware of? What kind of your guy's rhythm looks like in terms of planning, and what you’re seeing other businesses do? (28:19) If there was one thing that you were to leave to our audience that you feel would serve them on their journey of not only just building wealth in their business but living like a millionaire in all areas of their life, what would you leave them with? (33:51) In This Episode, You Will Learn: Option to left up small businesses and to avoid dying away (05:42) Remarkable stories that show up during this pandemic (07:32) The Best in Business Awards – recognizing the impact of different businesses (23:03) Quotes: “When business starts acting that way where purpose becomes as important as profit, I think that can be incredibly powerful.” “Your company is who you are, and your purpose for existence.” “Somehow you have to tease apart your revenue to make sure you’re always planning for the future.” “It’s not just about making money, it’s about carving time out to have a relationship with your time, carving time out for yourself.” Connect with Scott Omelianuk on: The Inc. 5000 2020 Awards The Best in Business 2020 Awards Inc.
