Derek does both on this episode. While competing in the USA college system, Derek earned three national titles in the Hammer Throw, a top two world ranking indoors and four All-American Honours. For his achievements in track and field he was inducted into the North Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame. Derek set multiple Canadian records and represented Canada as a member of Team Canada in the Commonwealth Games.
