Tian Yao — How to think like a successful Chinese CEO

Tian Yao — Compete With Yourself Happiness Is A Choice ” Tian Yao I am thrilled to have a real power woman today on Grow: Tian Yao. Tian Yao is a personal friend and mentor of mine, her success story is nothing short of spectacular. I am honored that Tian Yao found time in her extremely busy schedule to appear on the grow podcast. When she speaks guys, you should listen, because she knows what she is talking about. I was introduced to Tian by two friends of mine who hinted that Tian also shares a passion for psychology and that we would get along great. One of the reasons why I started the grow psychology podcast was because after years of studying clinical psychology I was looking for the other side of the spectrum, people who are totally kicking ass in life. Tian Yao is definitely in that category. In order to understand the psychology of successful people, I was starting to look for people who might share some of their trade secrets with me in order to learn about excellence and high performance from real-world case studies. Who is Tian Yao? Tian Yao is an ex-professional ballet/ traditional dancer and a Chinese entrepreneur who after finishing her master’s degree in 2003 established her first company in Newcastle in her mid-twenties. In 2006 she founded her second company in Hamburg Germany only to follow to establish her third company in 2009 in Xiamen China. In 2016 she established her own brand Victoria Hyde London. Tian Yao is not your typical self-made millionaire. Tian is a person who is always in learning mode. We talked hours about psychology and what it takes to win. I believe I was particularly interested in Tian Yao because after meeting her I was fascinated by her work-life balance. While on the one side she is a tough businesswoman, on her private side she is funny and has a huge heart. Also being a young and hungry guy myself I was always curious to know what it’s like on the other side of the rainbow. I wanted to know what happens when you conquer your dreams. Is it worth all the hard work and struggle? What does it feel like to make your first million? How does success change you?
