381 The Power of Two Way Prayer With Father Bill
Hey friend, Im so glad youre here! In case youre new to my little corner of the world, my name is Arlina and Ill be your host. If youre not new here, then you already know I love exploring tools and practices that support sobriety, spiritual growth, and mental health - all in an effort to help me change my behavior and ultimately feel better. The tool were talking about today is called Two Way Prayer and Father Bill W will be teaching us what it is, how it can benefit you and how to do it. You may have heard about this before through Elizabeth Gilbert who has a substack called Letters from Love but if you havent, I have come to understand this practice as a way of talking to, and getting answers from universal intelligence. Some people call that intelligence love, or god or source energy or higher self. What its called is not as important as what the practice delivers in terms of guidance and inspiration. So ever since my conversation with todays guest, Father Bill, I have been practicing 2 way prayer and the guidance Ive received has been quite profound. To be transparent, Ive been feeling pretty lost and super burned out. Ive been pushing myself way too hard for way too long. Thats a whole other story, but my request in the 2 way prayer journaling was along the lines of What would you have me do with my work? To my surprise, I got an answer! The answer was to allow myself to have a Self-Care Summer. To allow myself to rest, reset, and recharge. So thats what Ive been doing! Im doing a lot of yoga, weights, journaling, meditating, exchanging gratitude lists, consuming content around self-worth, money, business development, and generally allowing myself to be present for my life. All this to say, the tool of 2 way prayer is something I will continue to incorporate into weekly self-care practices and I have Father Bill to thank for it. 376 Why You Sabotage Your Eating Goals and How to Stop

On this call I am speaking with Joslynn who is in long term sobriety, but like many of us, she has been struggling with sticking to a healthy food plan. The funny thing is, we all know what we should eat. But knowing what to do and being able to do it are two different things. What we are going to do on this call, is address the two opposing desires the part that wants to eat healthy and the part that wants to indulge. We will be going through a process called Polarized Parts Work where we honor the intentions of both parts. This is actually a process I take my clients through to help them overcome that internal resistance that shows up when were trying to break out of old habits, start new ones, and generally reach for bigger goals. I hope that this demonstration gives you a little bit of insight into how you can close the gap between knowing what to do, and taking consistent action. 375 Unsung Heros: Life on the Frontlines of Addiction
Today I am joined by my friend and fellow podcaster Brock Bevelle. Hes a retired police officer and a man in long term sobriety from opioid addiction. He also manages the Tiktok and IG accounts called @Fentanylprojectaz where he interviews people on the street in active addiction. We are going to talk about what its like to be in long term sobriety and actually get into some of our dark addiction stories that keep us sober that we dont normally talk about. I also wanted to bring awareness to Brocks work where he is actually in the streets trying to help people kick fentanyl addiction. He offers basics like hygiene kits, sunscreen, and water, but he also offers emotional and recovery resources. Not only that, he is literally saving lives on a regular basis. There are many videos on Tiktok where he Narcans people who are actively overdosing. Its heartbreaking, but also so inspiring to watch as he gives hope to so many people. The main reason I wanted to talk with Brock again is because I wanted to find out how we as a community can support people like him who are on the streets every day. 373 Money, Booze and The Biology of Desire
