Hello Ungovernable Misfits I hope are ready for something electrifying… like …electricity. There are a plenty of heady concepts and analogies to convey the process of mining and proof of work, like the transmutation of energy, storing energy in time, or how Bitcoin is money as stored energy, I’ll leave those metaphors to the thinkbois. Here, we’ll cover some basic concepts and terminology related to electricity to gain a better understanding of the process of mining. Because with out electricity, we’re left to hashing with pencil and paper. In this iteration of Bitesize Bitcoin, we’ll define Voltage, Current, and Power and how we can solve for them using Joule’s Law. We will define Work… Watts, and Joules …and the first Law of Thermodynamics.    Our guest today @JonPDiGiacomo is here with his daughters to explain in plain language. Ive invited todays guest on the show to discus a recent thread and article focusing on bitcoins potential threat vectors. Michael worked on the article after witnessing the western worlds descent into tyranny and realising we have only one real hope of escape and freedom. Bitcoin is that hope so we had better not fuck it up! Some people will get upset at the mere suggestion of issues within bitcoin but my view is better to be safe than sorry. Todays FUD  - Mining bitcoin at home is not profitable.    To mine, or not to mine, that is the question. Many people will tell you its best just to buy Bitcoin and its all much more hassle than it's worth. As with most things in this world, just because most people say it does not make it true. Its in some peoples best interest to dissuade users from mining but I believe it is well worth while for many.
