EP # 100 | A Biblical Exposition of “White Culture”

Recently, the National Museum of African American History & Culture (NMAAHC) posted on its website an infographic titled “Aspects & Assumptions of Whiteness & White Culture in the United States.” The infographic, which has since been removed from the NMAAHC website, outlined 14 areas that, in the opinion of the NMAAHC, are rooted in “whiteness” and “white culture.” In this special episode of the Just Thinking Podcast, Darrell Harrison and Virgil “Omaha” Walker conduct an in-depth analysis of the infographic through the lens of Scripture. The episode is part Bible study and part history lesson. EP # 099 | Assurance of Salvation

To be a Christian is, by definition, to possess salvation and all that it entails (forgiveness of sin, adoption as children of God, eternal reward in heaven, and much more). And yet, many professing Christians struggle to believe the promises that salvation brings because they don't possess the assurance that they are saved to begin with. In this episode of the Just Thinking podcast, Darrell and Virgil ("Omaha") show you from God's Word that assurance can be yours forever.  Our recommended reading: Am I Truly Saved? by Joel Webbon of Right Response Ministries As we discuss the assurance of our salvation in this episode, Joel's study through 1 John provides a great resource to further dive into the truth of our salvation.   In a first-of-its-kind episode, Darrell Harrison and Virgil "Omaha" Walker get behind their respective microphones for a no-holds-barred, completely impromptu, unscheduled, and unscripted (no notes) discussion about how believers in Christ should respond to events surrounding the death of Mr. George Floyd at the hands of police officers in Minnesota. Ep # 097 | Our Blessed Hope

Pandemics, quarantines, layoffs, bankruptcies, divorces, suicides–the news seems to be getting worse every day. In these troubling and encouraging times, where can one turn to find hope? In this episode of the Just Thinking podcast, Darrell Harrison and Virgil “Omaha” Walker discuss how God uses trials and adversity in the lives of His people to reorient them away from the temporal troubles of this world and toward the “Blessed Hope” we have in Jesus Christ. EP # 096 | Christian Contentment

Adversity has a way of revealing our true selves, especially during times of trial that seem to last for a prolonged period of time. It is during those times that Christians must guard against allowing the sin of discontentment to take root in our hearts. In this episode of the Just Thinking podcast, Darrell and “Omaha” (Virgil) discuss what God’s Word has to say about how Christians can be genuinely content in whatever circumstances we find ourselves. EP # 095 | Pornography in the Church

The statistics tell the story — pornography is a destroyer. It destroys marriages, families, careers, and reputations. In other words, pornography destroys lives. Christians are not immune to this scourge. And yet pornography remains one of the least-addressed issues in the church today. In one of the most crucial episodes ever produced by the Just Thinking podcast, Darrell and Virgil (“Omaha”) look to Scripture for answers to why pornography is such a problem for so many — including within the church — and how the gospel of Christ can lead to freedom from its unmerciful enslavement. “Because of technical difficulties related to increased Internet usage as a result of COVID-19 stay-at-home orders, you may notice intermittent instances of audio interference. We sincerely apologize.” Resources Related episodes * EP # 060 | Sexual Sin in the Church Related blog articles * N/A Related external media * “Self-Defense Against Sexual Sin” (John MacArthur, Grace to You) * “Guarding Sexual Purity” (John MacArthur, Grace to You) * “Pornography: The New Narcotic” (Morgan Bennett, The Public Discourse) * “Women and Pornography” (Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC)) * “Pornography and Dating” (Sean Perron and Spencer Harmon, Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC)) * “Find a Certified Biblical Counselor” (Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC)) * ”Seven Things to Do After You Look at Porn” (Paul Maxwell, Desiring God) * “The Pornographic Seduction” (Albert Mohler, Ligonier Ministries) * “The Progression of Pornography Addiction” (Gene McConnell, Focus on the Family) * “Finally Free: Fighting for Purity with the Power of Grace” (Dr. Heath Lambert) * “Sexual Detox: A Guide for Guys Who Are Sick of Porn” (Tim Challes) Support To support the podcast, please click here or copy/paste the following link into your browser - https://justthinking.me/support/ Disclaimer © Darrell B. EP # 094 | Do Not Love the World

The coronavirus continues to affect the lives of countless people around the world. But notwithstanding the casualties the COVID-19 pandemic has left in its wake, God is using that adversity to expose some things about the hearts of His people that some may not want to acknowledge or admit. Darrell and “Omaha” (Virgil) expound on that thesis in this timely and heart-penetrating episode of the Just Thinking podcast, titled “Do Not Love the World.” Resources Related episodes * N/A Related blog articles * N/A Related external media * “Finding Security in a Troubled World” (John MacArthur, Grace to You) * “The Promise of Peace in a Worried World” (John MacArthur, Grace to You) * The Belgic Confession of Faith (All of Grace.org) * “The Mystery of Providence” (John Flavel) * “Valley of Vision: A Collection of Puritan Prayers” Support To support the podcast, please click here or copy/paste the following link into your browser - https://justthinking.me/support/ Disclaimer © Darrell B.
