Colossians #1 An Intro to the NT's Greatest(?) Letter: the Colossian Heresy

THIS EPISODE In this episode, Rob and Vinnie kick off their journey through Paul’s letter to the church in Colossae. They explore the striking similarities between Colossians and Ephesians and discuss the possible reasons behind this overlap. Together, they ask, “Where exactly was Colossae?” and “Why does its location matter for interpreting this letter?” The episode also delves into the so-called “Colossian heresy”—a mysterious blend of religious influences that Paul confronts head-on. What was it? Why did it matter then? And what does it mean for us now? Colossians is a short but theologically rich letter that lifts up the cosmic supremacy of Christ and challenges believers to live lives shaped by that reality. Understanding this letter isn’t just an academic exercise—it’s a call to reimagine what it means to be the church in a world full of competing powers.     FOLLOW THE PODCAST Subscribe to be notified of our new episodes (each Monday).  Want to help us expand the Gospel of the Kingdom? Immigration: Faith, Fear, and Forced Expulsions: Standing with Immigrants

THIS EPISODE In this urgent conversation, Rob and Danny discuss the deepening immigration crisis in the US with Prof Russell Jeung, co-founder of Stop AAPI Hate, and professor at San Francisco State University. As ICE detains and deports individuals, including some with legal status, fear is gripping immigrant and minority communities across the nation. In this conversation, they’ll explore the racial injustices behind these actions, the historical context of anti-Asian and anti-immigrant policies, and how Christians and communities of faith can respond with compassion, advocacy, and courage. Join us as we wrestle with the ethical, spiritual, and human cost of immigration enforcement—and what solidarity looks like today. Glory, Justice, and Peace: Jesus Breaks Down the Barriers That Divide: With Kristin Caynor and Werner Mischke Part 2

THIS EPISODE In this episode, Rob and Vinnie sit down with Werner Mischke and Kristin Caynor to explore Ephesians 2 and the radical claim that Jesus is not only the peacemaker between God and humanity, but between all people. We unpack the biblical concept of glory as relational beauty and consider what it means to be God’s image bearers in a divided world. Kristin and Werner argue that true glory is found in relationships marked by justice, peace, and reconciliation. They show that in Ephesians 2, Jesus breaks down the walls that divide, and as His followers, we are called to do the same. This means loving our neighbors, tearing down barriers, and advocating for the dignity of all people, including, for instance, the moral imperative to stand with and feed the people of Gaza. To neglect this is to deny their humanity and abandon the ministry of reconciliation entrusted to us. Join us for a rich theological conversation with real-world urgency.   Here is a link to the website for Kristin and Werner's book https://onenewhumanitybook.com/      FOLLOW THE PODCAST Subscribe to be notified of our new episodes (each Monday).  Want to help us expand the Gospel of the Kingdom? Philippians #4: 2:6-11 The Christ Hymn; The Best text in Scripture?

THIS EPISODE To what extent are we to imitate Jesus? Rob and Vinnie dive into Philippians 2:6–11—the powerful Christ Hymn! While contemplating its profound Christological implications, they explore its missional call for believers to imitate Christ’s self-emptying love. They unpack how Jesus' journey from humiliation to exaltation shapes not only our understanding of who He is, but also how we’re called to live: embracing humility, service, and sacrifice as the true path to glory.   FOLLOW THE PODCAST Subscribe to be notified of our new episodes (each Monday).  Want to help us expand the Gospel of the Kingdom? Philippians #3 Unity in the Church? Is it possible?

In this episode, Rob and Vinnie begin part 1 of a look at the Christ Hymn (Phil 2:6-11) by discussing the context in which the hymn appears (2:1-5). In this passage, Paul exhorts them to be unified.
