FF 214 - Legalizing Marijuana in Connecticut with Nicholas Stein

On today's episode of Felony Friday Nicholas Stein joins John to share his personal history in the criminal justice system and how it's motivated him to help to change marijuana laws in his home state.  Nicholas made some careless decision during his youth and ended up with two marijuana convictions, a misdemeanor for possession and a felony for intent to distribute. He is now working full time to change the marijuana laws so others don't get caught in the same net. Nicholas is working with other activists to lobby for the legalization of recreational marijuana in Connecticut and to automatically expunge criminal records for certain marijuana crimes. 437. A Paradigm Shift on Abortion? Kerry Baldwin Makes a Libertarian Case for a New Perspective

In today's flagship Lions of Liberty podcast, host Marc Clair is joined by Kerry Baldwin of MereLiberty.com and the Dare to Think podcast to discuss her unique take on the subject of abortion, one that critiques not only the standard "pro-choice" and "pro-life" positions, but even the "principled compromise" position of evictionism as presented by Walter Block. Kerry's critique of Block's position even led to her debating him on the topic at a recent Soho Forum. While I thought I had put the abortion issue to bed after my episode 400 roundtable, Kerry presented such a unique perspective on the issue that I had to invite her on to expand. We dive deep into some of the most difficult aspects of the abortion issue, including what should the libertarian outlook should be when rape is involved, the concept of a fetus as "trespasser" as presented by Block, and how a true paradigm shift on the issue can lead to better outcomes for consenting adults and fetuses alike.  Help us launch this show to a whole new level in 2020 by joining the Lions of Liberty Pride and supporting this show on Patreon ! 436 Who Sunk the Hawaii Super Ferry? The Nittany Level Premier!

In today's flagship Lions of Liberty podcast, host Marc Clair is joined by his normal "Conspiracy Corner" crew of J.B., Howie and Rico for the debut of a new regular feature on Lions of Liberty, the Nittany Level Choice! Each month, one of our supporters on Patreon at $50/month aka the "Nittany" level will choose a topic us to banter about on the show. This month, supporter Craig de Costa wanted us to look into the (metaphorical) sinking of the Hawaii Super Ferry, a seemingly popular option for tourists and businessman that was quickly shut down by protests and court orders, before the physical ships were then purchased by the U.S. Navy. The CC team takes a look at the case and ponders just what cronyist forces may have been at play, and how this should be viewed through the libertarian prism. Plus, Craig himself comes on the show to give his thoughts! Become a Nittany level member yourself!
