Ep. 1750 Antonio Terni And Paolo Berluti In Marche | On The Road With Stevie Kim

Welcome to Episode 1750 on another episode of “On The Road Edition”, hosted by Stevie Kim. In Today’s episode, Stevie sits down with producers, Antonio Terni and Paolo Berluti from the VIA Gita Scolastica deep dive in the Marche wine region held last year, November 15th to 19th.More about today’s wineriesFattoria Le TerrazzeThe story of Fattoria Le Terrazze goes back to 1882 when the winery was established on the hills surrounding Numana. Since the late nineteenth century, the Terni family has been growing Montepulciano grapes and transforming them into wine.Under the guidance of winemaker Federico Curtaz, Antonio and Georgina Terni today produce around 90,000 bottles per year from their 16 hectares of vineyards. The Conero is a particularly interesting area for red wines. Its most typical product is in fact Rosso Conero, available both as a DOC wine and as the Sassi Neri DOCG Reserve. In addition to Rosso Conero, Fattoria Le Terrazze also produces IGT Chaos, a wine resulting from a blend of Montepulciano, Syrah and Merlot, Chardonnay Le Cave, Pinkfluid rosé and Donna Giulia, a sparkler made entirely from Montepulciano grapes.Furthermore, the estate produces extra-virgin olive oil of excellent quality from their olive groves of the Frantoio, Leccino and Pendolino varieties which surround the estate..Website: www.fattorialeterrazze.it/La CalcinaraThe winery covers 20 ha of vineyards in the hamlet of Calcinara in Candia in the commune of Ancona within the Conero appellation. A young winery run by a dynamic generation of artists, Paolo and Eleonora Berluti, La Calcinara aims to promote its own area with wines that are regional made using grape varieties which are indigenous to the Conero area. The philosophy behind the winery is to lift Rosso Conero to its apex by creating wines which are passionate, complex and warm and accompany both celebratory moments as well as moments which are more difficult. We look after the vineyards personally, with skill and continuous development so that our wines are an expression of elegance and excellence.Website: www.lacalcinara.it/More about the host Stevie Kim:Stevie Kim hosts Clubhouse sessions each week (visit Italian Wine Club & Wine Business on Clubhouse), these recorded sessions are then released on the podcast to immortalize them! Ep. 1748 Maria Elisabetta Fagiuoli Of Montenidoli | Slow Wine 2023

Welcome to Episode 1748; part of our Italian wine interview series set in Bologna! There they conducted dozens of interviews with some of Italy's most inspiring producers. Join the fun every Thursday afternoon!Tune-in each Thursday as we bring you the great interviews that unfolded over the course of 3 days.More about today’s winery:“Montenidoli: 200 hectares/500 acres of woods on the hill overlook San Gimignano, in front of Chianti Classico, between Florence and Siena. It is unpolluted land, high upon the hill, with clean air, far away from any chemical poisons invented by humans. When we arrived in 1965, the land was abandoned: the woods had invaded the fields, the olive trees were running wild, and the vines were covered by bushes. We committed ourselves to the soil and endeavored for a new beginning. We began breeding rabbits, as their manure was excellent for fertilizing the soil. We bought worms, spreading them in the fields to create humus and soften the earth. We pruned only in winter when the vegetation was dormant. All the cuttings were ground and fermented to make compost, which we used to fertilize the plants. We followed the rules of nature dictated by the weather, the days, and the seasons.”Connect:Website: www.montenidoli.com/terroir/_______________________________Let's keep in touch!
