The ego doesn't want you to be intuitive and start following the Holy Spirit, it wants you to be distracted by lots of stimulation... The whole point of "A Course in Miracles" is to start to recognize the call for love in your brothers and sisters. Because when you do, then the love in your heart will be activated and start to come through. But the ego doesn't want you to wake up, because if you wake up then the ego is out of business. So it generates many, many distractions to keep the mind away from the stillness where God is found... Judgements have become so familiar. That's what we all know in our daily lives, the chatter between friends and family. And our heart is going, "I want to get out!" The Course showed up as a symbol in David's life as he used it as an oracle, developing a constant dialogue with Spirit. Practicality was key and Spirit's guidance was extremely specific for David. After saying "yes" completely to Jesus, the next thirty years was easy. It's easier to collaborate than to compete. Any sense of desiring a normal (special) relationship leads to disappointment and the only way to look upon it all is from the perspective of opening up to a love that transcends time, space and bodies entirely. Time is simultaneous. The main character is moving through time and experiences different parts of his life in the dream and his Holy Relationship. His wife has to learn to forgive and not to have any expectations whatsoever for spending time with her husband. There are no exceptions to the forgiveness.
