Weekly Online Movie Gathering with commentary by David HoffmeisterThe top themes of this week's blocks to the awakening poll were "Fear of love", "Specialness", and "Authority problem" and to cover these topics all the way to enlightenment, 2 short different episodes were chosen. A Philip K. Dick story from the Electric Dreams series (2017) 'The Hood Maker' and a Black Mirror episode originally called 'Hang the DJ', but renamed by David to 'Ascension Through Relationship'. The two episodes revolve around specialness and the special relationship, which is the belief in the ego's thought system. Its the belief in private thoughts and a private mind. It's the belief that you can have a mind private to your own personhood which is made of private thoughts and secrets. So when we are faced with a call to awaken, the fear is the fear of loss of privacy and the fear of lack of trust. Because can we trust ourselves or someone whose behavior is determent by secrets?Watching movies is a way of stepping back and remembering that what we see on the screen is not real. In response to the Holy Spirits Atonement card, the ego responded with the special relationship card. It had to come up with a real attractive illusion for the mind to be so consumed by it that it would forget the Atonement. In this world of time and space, the special love relationship have tears become diamonds and blood becomes rubies, but in tonight's movie "The Time Travelers Wife", chunks of time is involuntarily taken out of the special love relationship and transform this extraordinary love story into a love relationship without expectations. Every time an expectation is lifted from our mind its a good thing because that is what forgiveness does. All expectations come from beliefs buried in the unconscious and are associated with time. When time and the eternal are brought together time disappears and only light remains. Watching movies is a way of stepping back and remembering that what we see on the screen is not real. Jesus tells us that what we have been handed over from kindergarten and up is a curriculum of judgment and that we need is to un-learn that kind of judgment. He said in the bible, Judge not! But it was not really emphasized in our culture, not even in the church, instead, outcomes in the sense of good grades or something in the form was emphasized, but for Jesus real outcomes are states of mind. Jesus says that without judgment all outcomes are equally acceptable. Talking about open-mindedness! Add to that another open-minded statement from Jesus "Comparison is an ego device because Love makes non" For Jesus real Judgment is of the Holy Spirit and it's associated with wisdom. The movie that would bring all this together with a strong sense of actuality to currents events in the United States was an old sixties movie called "Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? Directed by Stanley KramerThe movie shows the inherent racism that still lurks in the mind of seeming progressive people and as such a comment to the uproar that is taking place in the USA at the moment from the Black Lives Matter movement. David put everything in perspective by stating that the only non-racist entity is the Christ, because Christ is pure love. Racism is just an offspring of its maker which is the ego and the ego is the source of rage, of wars, of prejudices and comparison, of superiority. The ego is a make-believe concept or idea, that has no reality and yet until we wake up we will believe in the ego. The ego made humans and if we believe we are human beings we are by definition a human racist, that is the construct of the ego and there is no reformation or solution to that in the world of time and space. Jesus says you can't heal what isn't real. You have to begin to overlook what the ego invented and forgive what the ego made entirely.
