A good teacher must believe in the ideas he teaches, but he must meet another condition; he must believe in the students to whom he offers the ideas.T-4.I.13. I will substitute for your ego if you wish, but never for your spirit. A father can safely leave a child with an elder brother who has shown himself responsible, but this involves no confusion about the child's origin. The brother can protect the child's body and his ego, but he does not confuse himself with the father because he does this. I can be entrusted with your body and your ego only because this enables you not to be concerned with them and lets me teach you their unimportance. I could not understand their importance to you if I had not once been tempted to believe in them myself. Let us undertake to learn this lesson together so we can be free of them together. Although he has seen glimpses that something is not right with the world, he quickly expels these thoughts from consciousness and adapts to Legoland, the only world Emmet knows. Legoland has instructions for everything, including how to behave, think, and live, to fit in and be a successful character.Accepting your true identity is not just about becoming a master builder or a superhero. It's about accepting that you are a valuable part of the whole and accepting the perfection of your true identity. Weekly online movie gathering with commentary by David Hoffmeister "Rocketman" was chosen as the movie for this week's online movie gathering and David's comments are centered around "Unworthiness/Inferiority, Anger at others and Fear of Punishment".We are created as eternal beings and share God's will. Our will and God's will is that of perfect happiness where there are no needs or wants. Our shared being is more like a song and when we make idols out of the specifics in this world we lose track of the song. We lose track of love because love is abstract and not specific. Rocketman is a fictional story about Elton John's life and how he lost himself in idols as a substitute for love. When Elton shares feelings of shame about how he has hurt people, his holy companion Bernie does not join Elton in that perception of guilt. Bernie is a symbol of how we all have that power to be the ones who can see innocence, and not buy into the error. We can begin to use memory, an ability developed by the ego, to remember the present moment, the holy instant, instead of valuing the past and linear time!
