The Covenant (also known as Guy Ritchie's The Covenant internationally) stars Jake Gyllenhaal as a Special Forces sergeant who is saved by his interpreter, Ahmed played by Dar Salim, after a mission in Afghanistan goes awry. The Covenant appears to be one of a wave of films that attempt to tackle the Western withdrawal and the subsequent Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in 2021.
