Mainly Moonology with Yasmin Boland

This week may start a bit jarring. Life goes in cycles and as we have had some easier days, some days are meant to be challenging.  This is the Universe's way of asking us: "What changes do you REALLY want to make in your life?". A meditation practice can really help you this week. Try to think about the person you want to be and keep acting the way that person would.In this episode, we will talk about the Astrology and Moonology this week including the Venus-Saturn Opposition, Sun-Uranus Square, Jupiter-Saturn Square, the upcoming Full Moon in Aquarius which will be a Blue Moon, and how you can navigate those energies over the coming week.The week ahead kicks off with Mercury Retrograde smashing into the planet of chaos and mayhem, Uranus. Feelings will be running high and things may seem like they are sent to test us.Try not to panic. This too shall pass.We are also seeing a Jupiter-Saturn Square. Jupiter is the planet of abundance, optimism, and amplification while Saturn is all about hard work, facing reality, and hard lessons. When these two slow-moving planets clash, we will see a tug-of-war between these two very different planets. Think of seeing the glass half full at one point and then reality hits and somehow it feels half-empty again. This is something we will experience again by the end of the year.Pay attention to the lessons that are coming up to you this week. What is life trying to teach you? We have some pretty intense energies with the Astrology this week.On August 14, Wednesday, there will be a Mars-Jupiter alignment that is taking place in the sign of Gemini. Jupiter is an amplification planet while Mars is the action planet and is about pushing forward. This could go both ways. it is a good week to really go for something that you truly want. On the other hand, this could also be a time when people will be talking their heads off without a lot of listening.Also, Mercury is still in Retrograde. It is a New Moon this week in the sign of Leo and things are looking good! We are having a harmonious aspect in Mars, Jupiter, and Gemini and that means *fingers crossed* some very good restarts. It is also that time of the year again when it is said that the Lion's Gate Portal is activated. It is one of the most controversial events that has the Astrology community divided. In this episode of the Mainly Moonology Podcast, we are revisiting a beloved episode that explores what Lion's Gate is and what Astrologers think of this cosmic event. And instead of choosing one side, I put out my journalist hat and invited two amazing Astrologers who have different takes on this event. So what IS Lion's Gate?It is said, the Lion's Gate portal opens once a year on 8/8. This is a time when the sun is in Leo, Orion's belt, the star Sirius, as well as the earth all line up.  In numerology, 8 also carries a lot of significance, so two 8s when August 8 (8/8) happens, it gives the practitioner a potent opportunity to manifest their deepest dreams and desires.For non-believers, 8/8 doesn't add up. Romance is in the air this week with the Full Moon in Capricorn and the Venus-Jupiter Alignment that's coming up, it is a good time to write down and visualize what you are looking for and the kind of relationship you want to attract in your life. There is, however, a bit of caveat to that as there will be a Mercury-Uranus clash that might bring unexpected news.Overall, this week's Astrology is quite positive. We are getting a harmonious aspect between the Sun and Neptune which is great for meditation and chanting. When you get a Full Moon in your chart, a tug-of-war is created there. Understanding where in your chart it is taking place can help you understand what you need to release or submit to the divine.
