In Matthew 21:18-22, Jesus curses a fig tree—not out of frustration, but as a powerful parable of judgment on Israel’s outward show of religion without true repentance. This often-misused passage is not about getting what we want through faith, but about the kind of faith that bears real fruit. It causes us to examine our own lives: when Jesus inspects us, will He find only leaves—or the fruit of a faith-filled, abiding relationship with Him?

In Matthew 21:12-17, Jesus cleanses the Temple. On Monday of Holy Week, He disrupts the corruption in the Temple, confronting sin and restoring true worship. Jesus' actions challenge us to examine what distractions or unholy habits are hindering our worship today, both personally and corporately. This text presents to us Jesus Christ, as the Great High Priest, removing obstacles to wholehearted, holy worship of God.

This Easter Sunday, we’re not just celebrating an empty tomb—we’re proclaiming the risen Lord of all things. From Colossians 1:15-20, we’ll see that Jesus is not only alive, but He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer of everything. Join us as we worship the Risen Christ, the One through whom and for whom all things exist.

As Jesus enters Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, the crowd erupts in praise—but it doesn’t last. In Matthew 21:1-11, we see the significance of the Triumphal Entry, showing how Jesus fulfilled prophecy and deserves more than fleeting celebration—He is the eternal King who calls for heartfelt worship.

The physical healing of the two blind men in this passage is a vivid picture of the spiritual sight Jesus gives to those who recognize their desperate need and call out to Him. Through their example, we’ll see four marks of true discipleship—crying for mercy, pressing through obstacles, making clear requests, and following Jesus without delay. This passage challenges us to examine our own pursuit of Christ: Are we seeking greatness, or are we crying out for mercy?

Jesus reminds His disciples—yet again—of His impending suffering, but they are still preoccupied with status and power. In this passage, Jesus redefines greatness, showing that true leadership in His kingdom is found in servanthood, and that the cross must come before the crown.

One of our elders, Nate O'Brien, teaches from Matthew 20:1-16. The parable of the workers in the vineyard teaches that God’s kingdom operates on grace, not human merit. The Master’s generosity shows that salvation is a gift, freely given to all who come, whether early or late. Rather than grumbling over fairness, we are called to rejoice in God’s abundant mercy.

In this passage, Jesus gives a radical message about riches and entrance into the Kingdom. He teaches that true wealth in the Kingdom is not about what we gain but what we give up, highlighting that salvation is impossible through our own efforts but made possible by God’s grace. The sermon challenges us to examine our attachment to worldly wealth and possessions, reminding us that following Christ requires sacrifice, yet promises a hundredfold return in earthly AND eternal rewards.

the rich young ruler in Matthew 19 thought he was good enough to earn eternal life — until Jesus exposed what he was truly holding on to. Whether you feel you’ll never measure up, or you’re confident you already do, Jesus’ words show us that salvation isn’t found in our goodness, but in surrendering everything to follow Him.
