LEICA Celebration Of Photography

Today we have a really special episode recorded in Wetzlar,Germany at the World Headquarters for Leica Camera. Leica was kind enough to invite me out to their annual Celebration Of Photography event which welcomes photographers from around the world to a three day event to celebrate photography which culminates with the Leica Oskar Barnack award show which awards two photographers with a new Leica Camera and cash prize. While I was in Germany I was given the opportunity to interview Dr. Andreas Kaufmann who in 2004 invested in Leica Camera and remains the majority share holder through his investment firm ACM. Andreas currently serves as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Leica Camera AG and has been instrumental in growing the Leica brand into what is today. I was also given the opportunity to interview Stefan Daniel who is the executive vice president of technology and operations at Leica Camera. Stefan has been with Leica Camera for over 40 years having started as an apprentice at age 16 and is well known for being the product planner on the M7 camera. Yesterday I was given the opportunity to tour the Leica Camera factory and can say first hand that the skill and craftsmanship that goes into making a Leica Camera is second to none so getting the opportunity to speak with both Andreas and Stefan was a real honor! I hope you enjoy this episode and thanks so much to LeicaCameraUSA for having me out to Germany as it’s an experience I’ll never forget! www.leicacamerausa.com www.picdrop.com Use promo code "Banter" to get two months free
